Emery on Brighton:
" The respect for them is high. Roberto De Zerbi is an amazing coach, he was playing very good with very good results last year. This year, they've changed a lot of players and it's normal. They need time to get again the same performances like last year and to be successful in their style.

It's amazing how they were playing, how they are trying to play. The results are not the same, but I appreciate them a lot. I appreciate De Zerbi; I appreciate how they were playing; I appreciate their style. It's always very difficult. We played against them in different matches last year and this year as well, and on Sunday it's going to be very difficult."

I’ll be in London on Sunday. Can anyone recommend a decent pub / bar to watch this in please?

If you have the nerve to travel south of the river to the real London, I think a lot of Villa fans watch games at a bar called Feed the Yak in Elephant and Castle. Careful you don’t get mugged by hipsters, flipsters and finger-popping daddios

I’ve watched villa in there. It’s fine, if a little cramped. Made out of shipping containers I think. But totally Villa!
Is the Villa pub by the Oval still going?

Not that I am aware of.

I'll take a draw and I think it will be a draw.

Voted Villa in the poll though.

Massive massive game . Torres will be fresh. Pray Martinez is back. If it's Olsen we lose .

Brighton are due a performance which is a cause for concern . They've been crap for weeks .

So because they haven't put in a good performance for weeks, they are due a good performance?

I think it’s more likely they’re checked out and suffering from key injuries to key players as well. Hopefully Unai keeps up his record over De Zerbi.

Well there's a good history down at Brighton and 3pts would be a really good way to pressure Spurs and virtually consolidate our Champions League position.
It's amazing what the team have achieved this season really.

Brighton have failed to win any of their last 6 matches in the league
And  Villa have scored 2 or more goals in 7 of past 10 away matches. I think have looked very good away from home in recent games and backing Villa to win!

Couple of changes for rest and rotation
Olsen or Gaucci could feature?
Konsa, Diego Carlos, Pau Torres, Digne,
Douglas Luiz, McGinn, Iroegbunam,
Diaby, Rogers
Duran , Watkins.

Having won 6-1 at Villa park I think it will be a strong showing again
3-1 win!
Watkins X2 and Duran.

Not sure about your mathematics skills Footy, but with a goalkeeper that makes 12 players starting?

My mistake. I'll revise this and also now include Zaniolo.
Moreno too perhaps

Olson/Gaucci
Konsa, Diego Carlos, Pau Torres, Moreno
McGinn, Douglas Luiz, Iroegbunam, Zaniolo
Duran , Watkins.

I thought Zaniolo did quite well when he came on last night, so would potentially start him on Sunday.

Ooh, I do love this fixture. Sorry if I've bored you with some of these stats in the past. We're their our manyoo.
They've only ever beaten us twice in the top division.
The first was in our last title-winning season, the second and last being the 2-1 win during the pandemic season.
That last one was also the only time in all of our 27 league meetings that they've managed to score more than 1 goal.

They might as well not bother showing up.

Maybe it's my confirmation bias with this guy, but he does seem more impactful as a substitute rather than a starter

He started against Arsenal and did well, but I think you're mostly right.

He looked sharp, which really stood out the other night as sharpness seemed in total absence elsewhere.
