The goal was so soon after the pen claim that you have to say there’s no alternative reality in which we get both. So I’ll take the one goal and being back in it at this stage.

Superb move for the goal and a brilliant finish from Ollie. It looks like it's gonna be some 2nd half.

If we out pressure on them, they look defensively shite too.

We can do this. But we need a few goals ahead of the 2nd leg.

Also… is it just me or has every referee that we’ve had in this competition been utterly turd?

Wasn't a pen. Clearly won the ball. Keep going Villa.

Konsa needs to sort this defence out. All over the place.

Obviously it’s the rule that whenever a player isn’t available they’d be doing miles better than what we have playing but I do miss Mings for his ability to rally them and restore focus.

That non-penalty was a shocking decision on field and then for VAR not to intervene was a disgrace. Clearly moved his leg to trip Bailey.

This officiating team are c**ts. Pure & utter c**ts.

Again.

Good to see us get the goal & some form at the end of the half, but concerned that HT is going to break that momentum.

If we can find a way to get past that front three man press, we can do these.

Equally, our shitty defending means that they could do us too.

We’re having to play against the opposition and the officials. The Bailey goal is completely soft to disallow and we’ve already seen plenty of fouls NOT given for worse offences. The ref keeps stoping our build up for nothing and the challenge on Bailey is 1000% a penalty. What is VAR for if it’s not to intervene on both those moments.

We haven't helped ourselves, but that was shamelessly corrupt officiating in that half.  Looks like something serious has happened in the Holte.

Good end to the half, but by christ, Luiz has got to improve. He has been like a fart in a trance so far!
