As i said those stats are misleading because its when we concede from a winning psoution those stats change. We tend to see out thw game whenwe dont concede. When we concede we tend to fall part

SO, according to Demetri in previous posts, all season we have been conceding stupid goals, and I agree with that as we only have 6 clean sheets. As one of those was a 0-0 against Everton, we have only not conceded in 5 league games.

However, we have only dropped two matches from winning positions, but now Demetri decides that is a false statistic as we tend to see out the game when we don't concede. Which has only happened 5 times. So in the 13 games we won AND conceded, we also fell apart and dropped points?

As an aside, we’ve got some walking football on Tuesday evenings. I wonder if I could ask some of the Villa players to give us some tips? However, we do play at a slightly quicker pace than they did in the first 45 minutes of yesterday’s game.

Not the first time even this weekend he has suddenly changed his arguments after being proved wrong. I challenged him on it being out of Blues hand when they still had to play Huddersfield so he suddenly stated "it is because blues could lose the next match and they could win it."

The point around us losing points from winning positions is clearly factually wrong in terms of it being a recurring problem. Like I’ve said I think the problem is more that since the turn of the year we’ve had periods in games where we just don’t compete at all. That has cost us points, and it’s not just a bit of a drop off it’s that we pretty much stop playing. Many contributing factors, including horrible injuries, but it’s an area where we need to be better.

I wish...but Emery has a weakness for it. Carlos is average at best and Torres, watching those goals back, that display reminded me of Mings v Bamford a few seasons back.

To be honest we bottled that yesterday. 2-0 up but playing average.. Brentford were rubbish. Get it back to 3-3 and we still should win but we fucked around.

Well it isn't factually wrong when it is there in black and white. Obviously it does rely on us taking the lead in the first place. So it wouldn't show the Manure home match of us dropping a point because we never took a lead. And for games like City and the recent one against Tottenham, we never took a lead. But it is still a stat that shows we are still tough enough to come out of those periods when we have those spells and get the win.

As i said in my posts which i think you seem to have missed the point - its losing from a two goal margain and when we actually concede goals. Look at what happens when we concede in a winning position? We tend to crumble. Thats my problem

We need to more professional and seeing it out. Wven ollies alluded to that it isnt good enough in his post match so whats the big issue? Just think some posters love picking on any negative post.

Your still perpetuating a point a losing from a winning position, that has been proven with stats to be largely incorrect. You really need to stop doing this as its really bloody annoying.

If Liverpool do lose today we're 1st for fewest points dropped from a winning position this season.

But i bet we are top from losing a 2 goal lead

Losing a 2 goal lead is a great Villa tradition and my eyes water with nostalgia from remembering all of those times in my early years of supporting them in the late 70s and early 80s when that happened.

One of the first games I ever went to was at home to Spurs in I think 78-79. We were 2-0 up and looking pretty much at ease going into the last 10 minutes. It ended 2-3 and yesterday was - the fact that we had enough time to get a goal back and could even have won it in the end - horribly reminiscent of that...

Losing a 2 goal winning margin has happened on 3 ocassions this season. We won 1 of those games, drew 1 of those games and lost 1 of those games. I'm not sure if it's been mentioned, but we've lost 5 points from winning positions.
