Fcuking hell I’m always a glass half empty kind of guy when it comes to the Villa but goodness me the state of this thread tonight. We are fighting for fourth not fourth bottom with this squad! It’s incredible we are still in it.
For me the thing that stands out is that the midfield seem scared to actually take a shot at goal from distance against a deep back 10….there were times McGinn / Douglas & Teilemans were all in shooting range and predictably tried another pass….Rogers was the only one shooting!
Konsa was terrible second half, and it cost us big time. He’s experienced enough not to perform like that, but in his defence, if he’d been in his natural CB position, with Cash at RB, Brentford wouldn’t have got a sniff. UTV

Konsa is a great example, having a great season but in that 9 minutes he was about as effective as a traffic cone on three separate occasions. It’s ok for your levels to drop a bit, but it can’t drop so much that you completely turn a game on its head. There should be more leadership and awareness of that in game. The one thing I would say is that we have looked a bit short of leaders on the pitch when things have got a bit tough this season. We just don't seem to have that bit of experience and nous to manage things when we're up against it.
