When your manager decides to shit the bed in the week, don’t be surprised when the team does likewise.

What are you talking about, it was a free hit!

It will be a sad day for this club when some hound this wonderful man out of his job.

More angry with Emery/Dougie than the actual result.
Dougie was off it for most of that game yet Emery hooked Tielemans, who was by far the better player of the two today.
Dougie suspension causes yet more strain on an already creaking midfield.
Only benefit is we use him across both Lille games.
Hate these kind of games. Bournemouth will be the same.
Still confident we’ll get 4th. We’re up against Spurs - The team that comes third in a two horse  race.

As good as Torres is with the ball, we’ve not got anyone anywhere near as good at Mings in defence at defending. It’s been brilliant, but we’ve looked quite vulnerable all season. We need someone quick, organised and solid next to Torres next season. Probably Konsa and a more reliable right back would do the trick.

Torres was appalling today and to be honest he has been poor since returning from injury. Problem today, and something we need to address in the summer, we have no genuine pace in midfield without Ramsey.

I know we all say about getting better players with the right mentality etc - but luiz let us down today but getting a ban, McGinn the same against spurs.

They are 2 of our best players - the ones we will struggle to keep.

The players we have signed don’t seem to have a better mentality than the ones that have been the core of our team since Dean smith was there.  Our best and most reliable ones bar Kamara were all in the Smith reign.  Carlos is a poor signing - Digne has done ok - but if I am completely honest - it’s these upgrade players we sign that seem to lack that winning mentality as much as anyone.  Mareno has been rubbish this season.  Youri goes missing too often when we need some drive - Diaby has been ok but basically a poor man’s Leon Bailey.  Zaniolo rubbish, pau good but defensively he drops more mistakes then mings.

A very sad day indeed.
Bad result today but we have a world class coach and to lose him would be horrendously bad.

I have to say the ref was absolutely woeful today he literally gave every decision to brentford. A very bias performance

I actually thought he was OK first half, made some decisions that pissed Brentford off. Then that woeful second half. It was like 'Stockley Park' literally told him to even it up during the break. Bizarre.

As others have said, shocking from Konsa, Pau in particular, and I'd add Tielemans to that second half (their quick free kick esp) - we looked a lot more solid on the right when Ginny moved back late on.

We switched off at the 2-0 goal, decided we'd already won. Not a top level mentality. I don't like the bloke, but you think of someone like Henderson when at Liverpool - no way that's allowed to happen. We're still too nice, especially without Ty. Need performances next two Thursdays - I'm expecting nothing at the Arse.

For me 1st half the made thw mpst ridiculous decision not giving a pen to carlos when he was pulled down yet gave foul other way.

I just knew after that what kind of referee we were getting today

Yeah that was a bizarre one.  Gave a foul against Carlos and then checked VAR for a penalty.

Another disaster at home, conceding so many goals at the moment and it's running us. We miss kamara so much and without ezri at centre half we consistently struggle.

No doug for arsenal, could be ten nil
Not a disaster. We rescued the game, we will progress next game. UTV

What a daft comment to make. We are sitting in 4th spot after a remarkable season.

I'm pretty sure Risso would have been happy after this result, he has been wanting it since Wednesday. Seems I was wrong.

Yeah I really enjoy when we’re shit. Bellend.

You have literally been yelling STOKE STOKE STOKE STOKE since Wednesday evening? So why wouldn't I think you would be happy when that exact scenario nearly happened.

WTF?  Who is hounding Unai Emery out!?  Absolutely nobody is doing that.  If you want to pretend that scraping a draw at home to relegation fodder is somehow decent when chasing an absolutely transformational 4th place, you are deluding yourself.

Missing out after 18 months of being in, to finish outside of CL this season would be crushing.  Crushing.  But the thing that would feel worse would be Villa fans agreeing with the absolutely inevitable narrative that Europa is amazing and what we should gladly accept what with us being only little villa and all.  Same as villa fans still cheeing on Jack fucking Grealish.  Have some respect for yourselves.

Newcastle got the job done.  Everton have played in the CL.  Spurs.

Anything other than CL will be shite.
