*ahem*

Interview with him now on VillaTV.

It seems he picked up an injury towards the end of the season chasing that 20th goal. It’s lasted through the euros and was the reason he didn’t play the final friendly.

Chelsea loan petrovic to one of the clubs they own strasbourg. Why cant we just do same loan dendonker out to vitoria ? Then get chalobah in loan. Dont get it.

If we cant even afford a loan our finances must be a absolute mess

As it stands the squad has more depth but the first XI is slightly weaker. Raised the floor but lowered the ceiling if you like.

Sounds like you're fucked if you're tall.

Is that it for us this window then?  If so it's mildly disappointing, and feels a bit risky in some key areas of the pitch (right back, up front).

Unai is happy that four of the players we brought in have been sold or loaned back out? Leaving us with, in reality, three players who have strengthened the squad in Onana, Barkley and Maatsen, I don’t include Jaden as he went travelling for a year and came back.  I think he might secretly be a tad disappointed.
If you say Onana in place of Luiz (albeit I see them in different roles), Philogene in place of Diably and Maaesten in place of Moreno, then really the only strengthening of the squad in terms of depth is Barkley, Ned and players (hopefully) returning from injury.
Agree we haven't improved the quality. in this window.
Hopefully Kamara Mings Ramsey and Buendia make up for it.

We’ve already got two injuries in defence, and Ty who is recovering from a very significant injury. Feels like the squad is already under stress.

I think bringing in a Chalobah or suchlike maybe until January whilst Mings is getting up to speed would have been a good idea.

Does the loan window shut at the same time as the transfer window?

We should make a big signing to fix it then!

Not for me as I don’t believe that. He said only a day or two ago that he still wanted a couple more in. Obviously, the Club would want him to say he’s happy so that’s why he has said it but, we all know that a couple more injuries and we’re going to start being stretched

Weirdly, the longer time goes, the better it could look. The 2 lads play well at decent clubs, they could easily be £20m plus sales next summer, and Doug looks good. We've gambled to hit PSR.
Yeah PSR screwed us over and Juve knew they had us over a barrel which is why we couldn't even get our first choice off them (Soule wasn't it?) I've seen clubs panic buying before but we had to panic sell before the deadline. Fingers crossed it works out.

It’s already worked out if we dont get docked points.

I guess Juve were the only club Doug would agree to at the time we needed to sell who made an acceptable offer. I’m sure if we’d been able to move Duran on first we
could have got more for Luiz later in the window but it would have been too late to avoid punishment.

I don’t think we have enough in depth quality wise but it’s definitely not because we haven’t bothered trying. Obviously kneecapped by FFP which is why our owners tried to get things changed.
What we do have is a world class coach that money can’t buy.
