The issue is if we finish 7th and go in conference league are players like maatsen going to want to stay? He already said CL was one of the main reasons he signed for us

I can see a situation like that arising. I do think whoever said kamara will be moved on next summer is spot on. Thats exactly what the club will do as be pure PSR profit

I think the issue is you worry too much about how awful things might be in the dire scenarios you dream up, constantly, and then you pen it down and despite you not knowing a Michael Jackson pun when they hit you in the face, I read it.

So far today what if we finish 7th, what if our best players leave, what if Onana gets a serious injury, what if Kamara is months away. I'm surprised yesterday was not what if Skynet really did become self aware at 02:14am Eastern Time.

Today is going to be Demitri saying the same thing over and over again.

Lets see what today brings. I reckon a loan or two possibly

Thanks for that useful insight in the future can you provide the euro millions numbers tonight as you appear to be able to look into the future?

Now what are you on about? I've just suggested we might bring in two loans.  Calm down.

Is there no irony in you bemoaning a couple of loans coming in as being akin to Euro Lottery wins, while all the time sagely predicting 7th, mass injuries etc. Sun is shining, we're as good a aide as we've been in 40 years. If you're not going to enjoy it, why bother?

Torres is made of glass so we are taking a high risk approach at the back .

They may look dire - but alot of people were highlighting the concerns last season about how we wont have money to spend to compete in CL. And behold look whats happened.

The above is a very likley scenerio should we fail to get CL. If you choose to not think thats a realistic scenerio thats your choice.  But i feel its a bit naive to think our better players will stick around if a CL club comes calling if we ourselves dont have CL next summer.

I would say if unai does it this season and gets CL it will be a bigger miracle than last year as this squad isnt as good as last seasons

I cant remember you saying anything about not having money to spend. All I can recall was you suggesting we'd throw leads away all the while after you lost your mind over the Brentford draw.

We didn't finish 4th because of divine intervention, we finished 4th because we are really good. It's a shame for somebody that places stock in faith, that you apparently have none.

I didnt realise it was a crime to raise concerns about our summer business ? Im sure you have read alot of posters here are sharing the same concerns ads. If you go back i was devastated that we sold luiz and unhappy we sold diaby. I thought with both of them going we would build a team thats as good as last seasons if not better as CL is going to be tough on us due to the level of competition.

But it appears (and i stress again) that we are gambling and hoping kamara buendia mings will get up to speed quickly which i think is massively optimistic. We currently have no one that can cover pau if he gets injured. We have dendonker as cover for onana if he gets injured. Kosta a 18 year old is having to fill in for cash (rb a area we have had issues for years)

Then the final point no replacement for a key player like diaby

I dont think thats being negative  thats just highlighting concerns that have not been addressed.

If we are done, and I suspect we are, I'd say that's a pretty terrible transfer window.  Our squad is only really looking deeper because of returns from injury, in terms of players in and out it can be debated, but I'd say it's a net reduction quality.

In my opinion, necessary as it may have been, the Luiz deal was a disaster, particularly as they have subsequently let Chiesa & Soule leave on low fees.  I accept people may see Illing & Barrenechea as investments, but it's tied up £20-25m of budget that we need now, not in 2-3 years time.

For a team just qualified for the CL, I think it's pretty remarkable that PSR hamstrings us that much.  We are fortunate we have a sensational manager and some injury returns, even so it's going to be a tough season.

Yeah, there's no possibly way to say the Luiz deal wasn't absolutely dreadful. Juventus will be laughing their corrupt arses off.

We currently have no one that can cover pau if he gets injured.

Diego Carlos. But if we go and get another player in that position for the whole season (or buy one permanently), then we are overstocked there when Mings comes back.

Has carlos played on the left of the cb? I swear he covers ezri?

As for mings i be suprised if he plays a game before xmas. Buendia had a pre season and still cant get minutes

Carlos played there for Sevilla, prompting us to spend £30m on him.

He played pretty much exclusively as the left of two centre-backs before he joined us. Sevilla had the best defence in La Liga with DC on the left and Kounde on the right.

When we bought him, everyone assumed he was coming in to replace Mings - and given it was Gerrard who bought him (and his issues with Mings) that might well have been the plan.

He's played for us as a left sided centre back and that's where he played for Sevilla.

Not sure of rules, can you loan 2 players from same club? I wouldn’t at this point be averse to loaning Chalobah & Sterling for the season perhaps with an obligation on Chalobah and an option on Sterling if he proves himself for us

We're done by the sound of it. Dreadful transfer window absolutely fucked over as punishment for finishing above Man U.

Buendia can't get minutes cos we are well-covered in his position! You can't use him as an argument about our squad not being strong enough.
