Yup, I think it’s been underwhelming. We haven’t added first XI numbers

I’m simultaneously underwhelmed - after so long chasing the promised land this isn’t the welcome party I expected - and completely understanding they’re doing all they can within the confines of the regulations.

Almost as if the ghost of Doug (RIP) has overseen the window .

Good grief. Such utter bollocks.

If we are strapped for cash, signing three players just to loan them again doesn't sound like the most pressing priority we could have addressed.

John Percy - Amazing night for #avfc with the Champions League draw and so many big nights ahead. Still a huge degree of frustration that the club can’t spend more with PSR & Uefa’s SCR. Barrenechea set for Valencia loan & Dendoncker poss to Anderlecht, but Villa restricted on incomings.

And also, while Maatsen looks a talent, was left back the place where we really needed to spend £40m if money is that tight?

I'm also starting to think Monchi might not be all he's cracked up to be. Three players in from English clubs in Onana, Maatsen and Barkley. Good players, but hardly the sort requiring the need for a supposed transfer specialist. Then it's really starting to look like we've had our pants pulled down by Juventus. What was the point in accepting a lower amount of cash for Luiz, plus two players who clearly weren't first choice and have been sent out on loan again?

Then spending £40m on a left back, for what was arguably our strongest position, when there are other more pressing areas.

You’ll agree with him when he starts to suggest Nas is Doug reincarnated.

On pure sales, spent about thirty million Euros (say £25 million) before you take into account any loan fees we may have received. So, pennies, for a club from the wealthiest league in the world that have just qualified for the richest cup competition in the world and massively increased revenue.

Surely it's just all a balance of the short, medium and long term? I mean, you can argue that they have got the balance wrong , but that is what is going on in regards to immediately loaning players out.

Some of us did say that he wasn't actually transfer Jesus at the time we brought him in.
