Selling Archer looks ridiculous

No matter how many times you say this it doesn't get any more true. Put it another way, if Villa were linked with spending £15 million on a forward who struggled to shine at a woeful Sheffield United team and hadn't scored against a current top flight team this year, and it wasn't a former Villa player, would you have been excited about the deal?
If Watkins or Duran get injured we are down to 1 recognised Nr9 which is madness .

We only play one number nine, so having two around doesn't seem that bad, considering it's exactly what we did last year when we finished fourth.

I hope Watkins, Rogers and Onana stay fit.  Pull a couple of rabbits out of the hat Villa or this is a very disappointing window.

Selling Archer is not remotely an issue.

Fabrizio Romano has just tweeted his Here We Go thing.... Geertruida to RB Leipzig!

Im really pissed off about this one tbh. Another we will regret missing out on

One question i have is if we had no money left how were we intending to sign felix? He would have cost a bomb. I do believe we have some money as i dont think it was dependent on duran being sold

As I posted weeks ago, I don't believe for one moment that we were ever going to be signing Felix.  Just nonsense rumours regurgitated by the odd journo, thus fueling more rumours. Rince and repeat.

We clearly don't have the money under the current rules to buy a player like that.

The gap left by Diaby and centre-half/right back worry me. It only takes a couple of injuries, we’ve already got one, and we’re pretty exposed. Feels pretty disappointing we haven’t at least closed one of those gaps.

Wonder if we'll try to sign Chalobah? On loan if needs be.

I agree. You would think we would have learnt from last season but we havent and we could be playing even more games than last season

The Monchi clip on twitter ends with something like ‘we need to find the best players possible.’ Leaving it a bit late if so.

I just found having the 2 Juve players in part exchange for Dougie and then loan them out , seems a bit odd , feel a bit ripped off now with that deal , Id have had Chiesa instead even If it was a risk , at least its a player that could come off the bench in chumps league.  Anyway Im sure they know what they are doing.

The gerty thing has peeved me a little , Cash isnt chumps league quality.

The backdrop looks like anymore moves were dependent on Carlos and/or Dendonker going, or Duran going when there was a lot of noise about him a few weeks ago. As has been said, we must have no room to manoeuvre.

Dendonker was good when we beat Manure and Newcastle at VP , the other games very Westwoody , a very odd signing .

Again, us choosing to hold back from reinforcing our squad in a Champions League season seems ridiculous to me.

I think any signings pre 30th of June were purely as part of an accounting exercise.  If we get first team players out of them great - but it was a case of picking the assists with the best long term value rather than looking to integrate them in the team
