Coutinho was the big mistake under Gerrard. I'm not sure there were many complaints on Carlos at the time we signed him, the Donk had filler vibes alright but I thought he would be useful. In fairness Kamara came in under Gerrard. It was more the coaching, tactics and man management where SG hadn't a clue!

I was saying at the time im worried about the type of signings gerrards making players who coming to the end of their 20s on big money and big contracts with poor resale value.

Kamara was one of the few signings he made that was decent. He also gave us olsen, chambers and digne. (Digne being a decent signing but again he was turning 29 when signed him for 30m)
