It's insane that Chelsea, with Palmer, Sterling, Makueke, Jackson, Nkuku... Still have the wage freedom and money to drop £100m on Felix and Neto. There's a playing field, but theirs is in a very different county.
That’s what’s frustrating - is we have to keep our powder dry and basically juggle round player sales to try and strengthen where they have 2 teams

Even Emi Martinez said the owners can't buy who they want with the rules as they are. So frustrating. Villa need to build a hotel or 2 and flog them. Seems to be legit.

A google search suggests their turnover is about £510m to our £210m.  The gap is closing but its easy to see where our problem lies.

But it shouldn’t be on turnover .  You restrict the amount of players you have loans of otherwise

Alternatively you should have a max limit (say 30-35) of over 21 pros you are allowed to have at your club at any one time. The rules state 25 for prem and europe, not 53 or whatever the number has reached there. A ceiling when you have to sell.

Madueke was incredible today and played very well for them end of last season.

That's where the Chelsea strategy of signing endless players is bonkers as he's exactly the type who needs to be shown faith in and told he'll start 40 games a season if he stays fit.

One we should be in for if he becomes expendable due to FFP in the future.

Chelsea have got some incredible players. When the chemistry works they are going to look great. It’s keeping all of them happy all season and rotating the line up that’s going to be the issue. And the manager seems a complete prick too. Today it looked great against Wolves who fell apart. It won’t look that way every weekend for either side.

Watching some of the extended highlights back, you can see exactly why Emery wanted Felix at 10. A player that can take a breath and take the right decision. If we could somehow get an elite level player in that position our attack takes on a totally different look.
In total agreement

Hate to say it as well, but had Chukwemeka stayed put him, Rogers and Ramsey behind Watkins would be a pretty scary prospect with the game time he would have got here.

Wolves were embarrassing today tbh. Chelsea against most decent teams i think are outclassed.

I think a injury to palmer chelsea implode

That's the way PSR works. (Current numbers based on Internet research - happy to be corrected).

Sales £85m - instant profit into the accounts

Signings £225m - some on very long term deals, but for PSR calcs, they're "capped" at 5 yrs, which gives an PSR cost this year of £45m, so they're £40m to the good.

BUT, if any of the signings don't work, then they're facing two problems:

1. Taking a hit if they sell for less than amortised value
2. Players sitting on the bench happily picking up their wages running their contracts down to get Bosmans.

Can't help but think they're storing up problems for the future.

Let's hope so!
