Wouldn't touch Zaha or Sterling with a barge pole personally - Both have ideas above their stations and would not be good for squad morale. The second something doesn't go in Sterling's favour, he spits his dummy out - Did it at Liverpool, again at City,  and now at Chelsea.

Neither would be happy on the bench, and no way I'd drop Rogers or Ramsey for either of them.

I guess so far Emery hasn’t brought in one of his favourites from previous clubs so maybe it’s just linkage that won’t happen in reality.
Lo Celso was all set for World Cup couple of seasons ago but was unfortunately injured and he was Argentina stand out midfield player in qualifying with performances.

Errrmmm...Pau Torres????
Thank you DS that’s a glaring omission by me to forget Pau! Very poor by me! Well corrected!
Even more the reason to bring in Lo Celso for someone who plays the Emery way.

Hope we don't sign Sterling.
Me neither. Madueke I wouldn’t be against.
Sterling does have great movement and football intelligence from his coaching by Pep. A strong addition I would have thought to our squad . Are you guys not convinced ? Loan deal would be ideal.

Back to being a Birmingham citizen.

From a small settlement in the north to the second city.

No, the city of Welles is in the south-west.

Is that anywhere near Wells.

Have you watched Stirling play at all for the last 2 seasons? His decision making is shocking and I can fart harder than he shoots. He's old, on loads of money and dramatically in decline. No.

Couldn't give a fuck about Chelsea, but if Sterling was anywhere near his best and we could get him on loan, we'd be helping ourselves.

Is it just me or would Lo Celso be such an underwhelming signing? Even YT highlights make him look meh

It's not just you, he's an underwhelming player in a position that we have loads of depth in. Winger plus right back and/or centre-half are where we need to invest.

You may recall we were discussing the signing of Kane Taylor.

I'm still wary of the UEFA wages comment and think we will need to see players leaving before any more coming in.

I’d argue the opposite I’m afraid. His movement is poor outside of a precision machine like City where he’s told where to be and when to be. I’d  argue footballing intelligence has always been poor. He’s on loads of money (even if Chelsea help subsidise etc), would expect to start and isn’t as good as Ramsey or Roger’s. He seems to be on the decline so we may not even get the Chelsea version (which is v underwhelming anyway). He feels like the definition of a Gerrard signing, rather than an Emery one.

If he was anywhere near his best, he wouldn't be frozen out.

He was poor last season, and has been for a while.

Coutinho vibes for me.

Coutinho's problem was staying fit. If Sterling managed to do so, he'd be a threat. He played the majority of Chelsea's games last season despite their roulette wheel attitude to team selection. If they've decided they want half a dozen new toys ahead of him this year, that isn't necessarily his fault. I'm quite happy with Maatsen, so far, and we wouldn't have signed him on your basis. Sterling would be a coup. On our terms, obviously, if they're only interested in a permanent deal for a huge fee, there may well be better options elsewhere.

Maatsen never had a chance at Chelsea, we signed him on his Dortmund form?
