Surely if we sell a player for sixty odd million or whatever it was we got for Diaby, we can afford to spend about a third of that on Madueke? Especially if have spare funds to throw at Lo Celso in a position where we don't need any more players.

If his wages are comparable, I’d say we can’t.

Not gonna lie, I'm a bit disappointed if we've missed out on Felix. Thought he could be the difference in games against the top sides.  I still think we've got a great squad, but he'd have made a great 10 for us.  Still, onwards and upwards!

I thought he could have been our new poster boy. But i think his willingness to join Chelsea, twice, and his general trajectory suggests he his a wrong 'un.

If we can afford Lo Celso, we can afford an exciting winger.

Joao Felix has joined Chelsea on a 6 year deal.

How on earth are that lot complying with the rules?

Didn’t Monchi state we had to sell Diaby to comply with UEFAs 80% wages-turnover rule? So in that case can we sign anyone without others going out? It’s suggests not.

Im not sure how the rules work tbh. I dont know if its either over a number of years e.g new players coming in like the FFP rules.

Tbh if we wanted felix he would have been on high wages so i think we may have some wiggle room.

It stinks. We have been finishing higher than them two years in a row yet we have to sell and they can buy any player they want

Their income dwarfs ours and will do so forever more. Same as all the Sky 6, the horse bolted years ago in terms of competition on the financial front.

We sell Luiz and Diaby to comply with PSR and they just pump 150mil in from their women's team, sell a hotel or get 50mil from their official tractor/energy drink/toaster partner.

They must have built a new hotel and sold it.

Lo Celso is another left-footer, he never uses his right. We're grand for that side, next.

Chelsea had an embargo on new signings for 2 years if my memory serves me right. They must have accrued quite a war chest in that time.

Our owners are considerably richer than theirs. Give it time, we will compete financially with them. Rome wasn’t built in a day.

And they still don’t have a shirt sponsor.
No doubt that will be  worth mega bucks

I preferred it when they were signing Micky Droy and John Bumstead.

They've brought in about half a billion (not an exaggeration) in player sales in the last four years. They've spent far more, but the rules allow for that. Given their huge squad, they'll have no problem selling again staying within the rules in future seasons.
