I see us linked with Trevoh Chalobah again, but it says he's been banned from Chelsea's training facilities? Anyone know what that's about?

The report I have read says that he, along with a few others, have been told that they are not part of the new mangers plans and, rather than have them use the first team facilities and give them hope that they may be reintegrated, they have been told to use the academy facilities to allow them to focus on getting a move away.

So a bomb squad made up to look like they are been done a favour.

Geertruida looks more likely by the sounds of it

For the non X'ers...

🚨🟣🔵 Understand Aston Villa keep advancing on Lutsharel Geertruida deal as contacts continue.

Not easy with Feyenoord but still high on the list with talks ongoing, as exclusively revealed this week.

↪️ Diego Carlos’ future will be key with Fulham close to getting it done.

... Biggest issue for me is that we won’t be underestimated by other PL clubs this season, we will be targeted as one of the top clubs not as one of the pretenders.
I think this is a good point, and our recruitment has given us more backbone in the middle (Onana, Barrenechea and - at a stretch - I-J) along with the return of Buendia and Ramsey, who will engage the press more effectively than we saw last season. We've sacrificed some flair (Luiz and Diaby) but will hopefully be harder to beat (let's ignore the unhelpful data of pre-season!).

I'm not convinced it's one or the other with this Geertruida and Chalobah thing. We used Lenglet, Konsa, Torres and Carlos a lot last season. And Cash at RB. With Lenglet and Carlos gone, Mings not close to a return realistically, we are 2 centre halves down and a very young right back up. If we thought we could shift Cash this month, I reckon we would go for both to balance the centre back area out.

Wonder if someone will end up taking Chalobah on loan rather than buying him? Chelsea will need to do deals with that squad size if they want to shift players.

Let’s have Geertruida permanently (surely Feyenoord would like Dendoncker as a trade lol) and Chalobah on loan :-)

I'd like to know whether Cash has a knock or something. Presumably he'll be with us for the year, but interesting time to be absent when we're being linked with someone who's primarily a right back but the kind who could easily be on the right of a 3 when the left back pushes on.

In terms of possible misspellings of his name, he's definitely got bags of potential. Other than that, no idea but I would hope so.

Maybe. But Ollie has had no pre season, Duran and Carlos are on their way out and we still haven't replaced Luiz or Diaby. I think we need several new players in order to compete.

Ollie needs a break more than a pre-season, wouldn't worry with him. Ramsey and Rogers fully fit should be key players for us. Mings if gets back to his best returns to our defence and improves us. Buendia will be an improvement on Zaniolo at a minimum. Lots of positives there, not to mention likes of Philogene back. Bailey has had a nice break too and should crack on again.

My worry is midfield, it's the most critical area of the pitch and we are miles weaker than we were this time last season.

How are we miles weaker in midfield when we’ve only lost one player who as good as he could be wasn’t always a regular starter? For the loss of that one player we have added Barkley, Onana, Barrenachea, Iling Junior.  I would argue the loss of Kamara was greater but even he will be back before the seasons out

We have more depth but stronger im not so sure. None of those players do what luiz does and i dont think JPB is as good as diaby is either.

Who is JPB?

I hope Watkins form doesn't suffer when he starts missing penalties if he replaces Luiz.

We dont get many penalties so no worries there
