All this cat food talk is well and good. We need a pacey, dominant centre back and a striker that can start every week if Ollie gets injured.

Agree on the centre back, but I honestly think Rogers is more than capable in playing just behind Watkins, and if needed, play the strikers role if Ollie ever got injured.

I would much more like to see any money we have spent on a top notch centre back and right back. This will be our problem area (if any) next season.

We don't need Felix.

Felix isn't a him and no other signings deal.
We are still very much looking at right backs and have been linked with several.
Last summer we signed Pau and Diaby and I expect another two or three big signings this summer too. We also don't need another centre back unless Carlos is moved on which may be harder to do than we initially thought as no one seems to have been in for him at all.
I would say our squad is at a tipping point now where we need to move some people on before bringing more in.

Can’t believe people want one of the best defensive right-backs in the game playing in a really rickety centre-back partnership with Pau. The only way I’d play Konsa at centre-half is if Mings comes back at his best.

I agree Percy.  I rate Konsa very highly but not next to Pau.  Might be different with Onana protecting both of them as this is also a key move by Unai, but for me, Pau and Konsa is not as effective as Mings and Konsa.

Konsa needs to play in the middle , he simply isn't a RB. Mings cannot come back soon enough .

Is this inside info or just assumptions? Genuine question, but I don’t think I’d assume anything really apart from Duran wants out and we’re willing to let that happen for the right price and that we will surely offload one of Moreno or Digne as we’re more than covered in that area.

He played brilliantly there for England against Vini Jr and Doku, and numerous times for Villa last season.

He’s got a great partnership with Mings, that’s evident. As is the fact that without Mings, our best defence is Konsa/Carlos/Pau with an attacking left-back.

If Villa weren't in champions league perhaps agree however We are.  So if not Felix there needs to be one or two high calibre Champions League experience players of international level to come in. If are to compete and play that level there are enough players within squad who have the class or experience at Champions League. Some established players would be great!

At the end of the day selling Diaby and Luiz is a loss of quality so having a Felix come in would be a boost of massive proportions.
I agree another centre back should be bought to give options there.

We don't need Felix.

If we sell both Diaby and Duran then i reckon one player is enough to replace them, leaving room for Rogers/Buendia and Ramsey to shine too.
Felix fits well as he can play both striker and as a ten.

We absolutely do need Felix, or somebody like him. Rogers and Ramsey etc are great young players, but have never played as number 9 which is the position we'd be absolutely stuffed in if anything happens to Watkins. If Ollie stays fit all season, we'll still need options up front to give him a breather from time to time. Somebody like Felix who can play as a 9 or 10 is exactly what we need. Assuming he doesn't come here and be a bellend, obviously.

A bit of insider on looking for a right back still.
Assumption on the needing to sell but that's seems to he common sense too. We have about 30 players in our first team at the moment and are trying to add a couple more.
One of digne or moreano need to go
One of Cash, Kessler or the new serb would have to go if we buy a new right back.
A new centre back would surely mean we have to sell mings or carlos.

Felix would replace Diaby in an asymmetrical formation I think if he were signed with Bailey on the wing and Felix tucked in behind ollie.

Yep agree with all this
He also has the technical ability we need when playing at the highest level in Europe to control a football and not give it straight back to the opposition

I think we 100% need another Attacking player - At the moment - with Diaby, Luiz and Duran most likely all gone - thats a lot of goals.  Bailey was a massive bonus last season - but its a big ask to say he will be at this level again all season.  Just like its a big ask that Ramsey and Emi can come back without any setbacks or need to recover form or match sharpness after a season out.

Likewise it is a huge ask that Rogers, Philogene, Dobbins etc will all be able to show there full potential without dips in form / struggles considering there age.   We're going into a UCL season with the majority of a squad that has never played at the level - I think we need at least 1 or 2 more UCL level players.  Whether includes Felix or not but I expect us to see someone of that calibre come in.  And maybe another defender of that profile too.
