The thing that worries me is the 'if anyone can sort him out it's Emery' vibe. He doesn't seem to have sorted out Duran or Diaby.

Sort of agree. He got Duran looking decent enough as a sub though I guess, it's just his mental side it looks like Unai was unable to control. Diaby just about did enough, but apparently didn't want to stay, so we'll never know if he'd have kicked on or not.

I think it'd depend if that were the last 50m in our, err, war chest or kitty or not.

Again, it's not the risk he is not a very good player on his day that nags me, he is clearly a very talented boy.

The risk for me is how he, as a player who attracts tons of attention, and always seems a bit moody, would possibly impact our team ethic.

EDIT I am not against us signing him, I am just pointing out a few concerns.

Reading the Onana interview and the discussions that the manager had with him prior to his signing show how thorough we are in our approach to recruitment. I accept what you’re saying that it is potential risk given his reported history but the rewards if it comes off could be huge.

Was just about to post that - Unai telling Onana what his shortcomings were is quite a strategy…very good one though.

If we get him then good….if not I’m not gonna lose any sleep over it.

Would still like another centre back…better one than Lenglet was and Diego is please :-)

In fairness both want/wanted out so there wouldn’t have been much he could’ve done in that regards.

That's kind of my point. If Felix is as flighty as his career to date suggests, there's not much Emery can 'sort out' if he wants to fuck off as soon as he arrives.

Ah, fair point 👍

It's all gone quiet on Semih Kılıçsoy even though it's been reported earlier this week we've tabled an improved bid of €30m. He looks one hell of a player and would be ideal to replace Duran. Make it happen, Monchi!

We're still being linked with sock-cutter Connor Gallagher.

They're still favourites for him but the article said that he and Chelsea are still some distance apart on agreeing terms and Chelsea may still end up letting him go, and possibly even reducing the fee demanded.

Felix at 24 has all the attributes and skill you'd want. Harnessed properly, he could live up to to hype.

I think we forget at times that as well as Emery we have Ayesteran who does a huge amount of 1:1 stuff and his experience and know how is invaluable. Under them, someone like Felix can be everything he wants to be.

Is that about 50 million sterling?

That's about right I guess. Add ons are very rarely achieved and if they are we will have been successful so I see nk problem with those.
