Seen things reported on Twitter that we have made an offer to Chiesa, luring him with Champions League football and very many fivers.

I'm not sure his reputation is matched by his quality or output.

There have been quite a few 'exceptions' though. Engels, Nakamba, Samatta, Heaton, Traore, Sanson, Ings, Digne, Coutinho, Dendoncker. All bought for  reasonable amount of money, with little or no increase in value. I'd argue we've had our money's worth out of Digne at least, and allowing for amortisation we didn't lose on Ings, but the rest we all took a hit on, or will do.

You’re right of course, but I think you could probably divide those players into some where the intention/ hope was for them to increase in value (i.e. Engels, Nakamba, Samatta, Traore, Sanson and Wesley), and others where it didn’t come into the equation at all (i.e. Heaton, Ings, Digne, Coutinho and Dendoncker) because we were either desperate or stupid.

His injury record scares me a little too.

I would take a pass tbh.

Especially if he said "no" to us last year...

Re Philogene, £16m seems way too low given how prices are going this summer.

Plus didn't the Hull owner/chairman mention it was at least £20m to bring him back when he was spouting-off about our side of the deal during last season?
I would hope we are in for him at that price....he's not left-footed too, is he...?

Is he more a wide forward ?

I would rather we go and get Soule than Chiesa.

Me too. Soule looks much more useful, Chiesa looks half the player he was 3-4 years ago.

He's naturally right footed, but he is pretty good on his left too...

He can play all across the front line, but mostly plays from the left. He is right footed.

Not anymore it isn’t. Either injuries have done him or significantly put him back.

There's no point paying millions to a player who never plays.

Yeah, I can't say I think Chiesa would be a sensible move!
