Genuine question who is Lewis Dobbin? I’ve genuinely never heard of him, beyond the references to big Tim going to Everton.

He's a 21 year old who played a few times for Everton during the first half of last season & then mostly considered not good enough for the second half.

I doubt that he will ever play for Villa & I reckon that he will be let go on a free transfer when his contract runs out.

I still haven't seen any mention of what the fee is for Dobbin.

I suspect it will be mysteriously close to what they pay for Tim. Pure coincidence of course.

I saw £3m somewhere. So not what they are paying for Tim.

What am I missing here, how does having a £9m mark in the debit column for Dobbin help us?

Because the Tim fee will be pure profit whereas the Dobbin fee will be amortised over up to 5 years.

Wouldn't it be an even better deal by taking the pure profit for TimI and not amortising any fee for Dobbin, by leaving him where he is?

It would, but Everton may not have had the inclination to buy Tim if that were the case. ;)

I don't think Everton would be letting Dobbin go if it wasn't for PSR. He seems to be well thought of there.

I'm hopeful I'm going to have a lightbulb moment on all this soon.

His own trough and a stable with a bale of hay.

Seem to be mixed reports on GOT, so I'm more concerned about whether he's any good than Tim leaving. Who though, thought that Rogers would be as good under Unai as he is?

Square bale or round?

Rogers shows how good Emery is at seeing a player, his potential, and how he could fit into an Emery team.
