No, Man City would get 20% of the overall valuation, not of just the cash exchanged bit.

It would depend on the terms of the deal, which we're not privy to.

Help, have I got this right or wrong???????????????????????????

Regarding  Douglas Luiz....

I think Man City has a 20% sell-on clause.

So if we sell him for £52m, the sell-on is £10.4m

But if we do this swap deal, the sell-on will be around £3.4m

Man City get £3m in cash, Weston McKennie's right leg and all of Iling-Junior's body above the nipples.

I'm worried about our standing in terms of being the best looking team in the PL. Do Barkely, Iling Junior, and McKennie together equal one Dougie Luiz? I don't know.

and we can still book an FFP profit of £52m as his book value is zero ( as he has been here for five years)

Jhon Durán has a 15% sell-on clause, so could we be doing another swap deal?

(I don't know if the sell-on clause kicks in on money above the original transfer fee or the total new transfer fee.)

Completely wrong, sorry.

Surely Man City would want his big fat head?

And neither are any of the Mickey Mouse journalists guessing at those terms either :-)

With sell-on clauses, would they not factor in the cost of players coming in into the fee? If not, that's a fucking brilliant way out of giving them more money, but I would have thought it would be based on total value of the transfer, based on value of incoming players plus transfer fee?

I recall many years ago the rags stuffing Wulvz over the sell on clause on Wayne Clarke, sending a nobody to Everton in the deal and valuing them the same as Wulvz were due 50% of the fee.

In fairness to sha, I don't blame them on that one. When Wolves went bankrupt they owed sha a chunk for a transfer between the two, which was never paid.

I find Sam Tighe always worth a listen, this is an overview on our transfer window:

No problem mate.

Jacob Tanswell from The Athletic, who occasionally goes on the 1874 podcast with some bloke called Dan Bardell (me neither), is a cut above most coverage as well.

Hopefully next summer we wont have the need to sell one of our better players to comply with PSR.

Yes, hopefully it will be to finance much greater investment in the squad, like it will be this year.
