Philips is absolutely not what we need. He looks done, and even if heís not we donít really need a reclamation project. Also as has been said heís not actually the style of player we need, even if he was playing well. He made his choice to join Citeh, he knew the risks and he just hasnít been good enough.

How Raphinha could fit in at Aston Villa

As per Spanish sources, Aston Villa are in the mix to sign Barcelona winger Raphinha. The La Liga giants would be reluctant to part ways due to concerns about finding a replacement, though he is valued at Ä60m (£52m) and such a bid could be too tempting to ignore.

The 5 foot 9 winger's stylistically similar Premier League players would certainly speak of a tailor-made ability for Emery's squad, with Raphinha scoring 11 goals and adding three assists from 34 Premier League starts for Leeds during his last campaign in England.

Youssef En-Nesyri rumoured

Unai knows him  and played in the chumps league before.  Center forward.

Yes yes yes! Though he was excellent in the Super Cup was it

An unnamed Premier League club have reportedly sent in an offer for unhappy Lazio midfielder Matteo Guendouzi.

The 25-year-old Frenchman has performed decently well in his debut season in the Italian capital, scoring three goals and providing four assists across 45 matches, but things have taken a downward turn since the arrival of Igor Tudor.

Which club could it be?

Were we not heavily linked with him before - probably lazily due to SUE / Arsenal links

Hope if he comes he has a haircut - want none of that Sideshow Bob nonsense at our club ;)

Wasn't a lazy link, Emery mentioned him in press conferences at the time. I'd prefer him to Barkley though he seems a tricky enough sort to manage.

He was a raging bellend at Arsenal but he'd be our raging bellend. Footy would love his antics.

A lot of chat on here on splashing out £20m for a squad player. Iíd say we need to be getting better value to meet FFP regulations.
