Well then 50k could be "bumper"! Pure guess but I'm going for around 80.

I would think a bit more than he was on at Luton, with a load of potential bonuses thrown in, and guaranteed Champions League games, would seal the deal. Pay him enough to get him to sign, but make him earn the bonuses, just in case there is any doubt about his commitment and mentality.

I don't think anyone would be blamed for doubting both after his last spell here.

He seems to have matured since his loan to us. I'm judging on what I saw last season and from that perspective, I think it's a good move given the constraints we're working with and I'm interested to see whether we sign another DM.

It would definitely make sense to have a low basic and plenty of performance related add-ons. There were plenty of games where he didn’t put much of a shift in last time but I guess if anyone can be demanding and more demanding, it’s Unai.

I agree, but plenty on here doubt it. So if there is any lingering question over whether he's of the right mind set, some performance related bonuses should keep him ticking over.

Makes sense given we are going to lose Dendonker and Chambers this summer.  Unai will get more out of Barkley than anyone else.

Do we ignore the two seasons in between Villa and Luton? He's had one good season as a pro since his Everton days. Seems like he will be competing with Luiz, Tielemans and possibly McGinn for minutes.
