 No need to 'swoop' then?

I think it will be a very shrewd signing

No mention of Luton 'bracing' themselves. :(

On a free yes.

Pay a fee not really seeing the point other than he's home grown for European games.

Guardian now reporting that we are "closing in" on the Barkley deal.

Have we got our warchest ready though? Surely a key part of any transfer.

Have we done enough monitoring before this swoop?

Barkley covers Tielemans in place of Zaniolo, Ramsey and Buendia come back to compete for left side and no. 10 roles respectively, a Gallagher type in midfield, a right-sided centre/righback type in with Mings back...

A bench that includes (for instance, at random) McGinn, Konsa, Barkley, Diaby, Bailey...I mean, that's big boy thinking. That's how you beat Milan away and Bournemouth at home in the same week.

Monitor the situation->Prepare the warchest->Selling club braces itself->Sky Sports understands->Football Insider pretends it mentioned this all along->Late mention of Saudi Arabia->Player stretches shirt unconvincingly

Good signing, he proved that he is willing to put in the work at Luton and knows Bodymoor Heath.

We're open to selling Diego Carlos. There is interest in Jacob Ramsey, but he doesn't want to leave, and only likely to be sold if we fail to sell others.

Well if it happens, I can't say I'm not slightly surprised, but it doeas appear to provide cover in a number of positions. Hope we get the motivated, fit, Luton version, and not the always injured sulking Villa version, although he was brilliant in at least 3 games for us.

"Ramsey is wanted by big clubs.." cites Tottenham and Newcastle.  ::)

He’s come off a super season that got him to the verge of national selection again. And now we get that version playing for Emery as a member of a CL club. I would certainly hope he will be that version for a few seasons as a valuable squad player. Certainly better than bringing on some of the inexperienced players we’ve had to lean on this season. And naturally let’s hope this seasons crazy injuries are an exception versus the rule.
