But at higher prices probably. As soon as they ensure they had a replacement and willing to actually get rid at a more attractive price, he goes.

I'd be surprised if Chiesa can cut it in England, he doesn't seem to have the fitness. More likely a reserve attacking option for them like Shaqiri/Benayoun previously.

Chiesa has landed at the right club for him, they have lots of good forwards & Gakpo so he’ll be a useful sub option in big games & CL and start some against the lower clubs

Nice of Juventus to fuck us over then give an Italy international star to one of our rivals for the price of a bag of scratchings.

Well, assuming we don't bring in anybody else before tomorrow, I'd give our dealings a very mediocre 4/10 this summer.

Yep i would agree with that. After a promisng start i think thats correct.

We would have had a worse transfer window than last summer.  Very disappointing if this is it.

However if jackson and geertruida come in that jumps up to a 7/8

I'm not sure I understand the negativity about the Villa deals this summer. I think the club probably had a very tough challenge to deliver against all the objectives - meeting English PSR rules and the Champs League salary cap, while deepening the quality in the squad and improving the first team in a highly competitive market, getting ready for a higher level of competition. I would suggest what they've done with that background is very impressive, particularly with the threat of points deductions or bloated squads affecting others in the league.

Yep, we are worrying about it, but we won't really know till at least the end of the season how good or bad it was.

Yeah, i'd say so, and if it's Rafinha rather than Jackson (slight preference for me) a solid 8.

4/10 for a club that signed Maatsen and Onana seems a bit harsh!

I also agree with the Buzzcocks’ guitarist.

I would agree, think it’ll be back end of October before we can properly judge

Agreed. There's been lots to consider and work around. I think we've done alright.

It's not enough though, surely. We've got more squad depth, but the quality of the first team hasn't been improved. We've added strength in midfield with Onana, but have lost Luiz's best attributes. I wasn't a big fan of Diaby, but he did just about OK, and we haven't replaced him properly. While Liverpool are adding Chiesa to a list of forwards that already includeds Diaz, Nunez, Salah, Gakpo and Jota, we're still pretty well 100% reliant on Watkins.
