Although this might - https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/aston-villa-risk-riling-deducted-clubs-by-wanting-limit-raised-by-30m-fvkhgrx3t
It’s ridiculous that the limit hasn’t risen with inflation since it was set in… 2013 was it?
Kieran MaGuire reckons that inflation would have the level at £213m in today's money for the accumulated loss measure.

Regarding Ramsey, I heard two rumours doing the rounds last night. One was that he has taken the hump about the club selling his brother Aaron (hardly believable, in my opinion). The other is that his foot injury is seen as very problematic by the medics - something that may continue to blight his career: this is more believable and may account for the surprise acquisition of Rogers.

I don't think the Rogers signing was that much of a surprise with the problems we were having with Ramsey. Him taking the hump is clearly bollocks. Can't believe there won't be a medical solution either.

That's crazy that the PSR figure hasn't been adjusted for inflation. Billion pound industry with clubs being deducted points over it and many others struggling to keep in check. Others selling youth players over it.

Can't comment on the second point but on the first I heard Ramsey Jr telling the story of his move and Jacob encouraged him to move. Look back to pre-season and plenty not only expected Burnley to survive but have a decent season. It was seen as a decent move for the lad, far better than Archer joining relegation favourites, Sheff Utd.

That’d make sense to me. I would think as brothers in professional football you probably have a sense of realism on this sort of thing.

The more worrying aspect is the injury bit.

Unfortunately, for the eldest two Ramsey brothers its not been a great season.  Like you say - it didn't seem a bad move and I cant see that JJ would be that entitled.

Its a real shame for Jacob this season as he is very talented, and he may be one of the rare cases of a player seeming more disposable when he is out injured.

I think it is easy to forget how good players like Mings, Emi2 and Ramsey are.

Bit dramatic to think he's going to have to retire over this. Probably a case of him having to manage the injury and he'll go from a 50 game a season player to 30 odd.

Back up keeper with the ability to not conceded 3/4 every game, right back competition for Cash, defensive midfielder and additional striker (sell Archer again if possible, not a premier league striker). Business done.

Does anybody know what will be allowed as our net spend this summer?

Whatever the amount, I just hope this window isn't as disastrous as the last 3, or we'll be relegated for sure.

Re his brother: I don't think it's totally unthinkable.

Jacob signs a long term deal last year and was told shortly before that by SG (one of the best midfielders in the last 30 years even if he was a duff manager) that he could go right to the very top and we'd build a team around him.

Since then a new manager comes in and - with FFP constraints sells his brother. And will prob listen to decent offers for JR himself.  Doesn't matter how long you spend with the club from the age of 10/11. Ultimately you're a commodity. Fans scream about loyalty. This is the flipside.

It would unnerve most humans in a similar scenario.

I don't recall anyone mentioning Rogers as a possible acquisition before the deal was announced; is why I described it as a surprise. Buying a left-sided player to cover for Ramsey was no surprise at all.

Yep, they better pull their finger out this pre season. No more gambles on free transfers and players from middling Spanish teams. If we don’t spend at least £250m NSWE can just fuck off!

The guardian linked us and West Ham to Ablaster from Sheffield united. I think he’s about 20 and has captained them this season.  Midfielder but unsure what type.
