As for Joan Felix, he'll be the 2024 version of Sasa Curcic. Off the back of a 4th place finish we sign a highly talented play-making nut job to take us to the next level, who decides he's had enough after 2 months and spends the season in the reserves, a massively expensive mistake.

This might be a leap

Seems to split opinion again this one but are you saying you think it’s a good move and if so what makes you think so? Genuine question as I’m looking for positives!

I can't help but think if we sign Felix it will either be a massive success or raging disaster, no middle ground.

As for Orford, if we signed him i'd be very surprised if he wasn't sent out on loan as he has 0 senior appearances.

Some tentative links to Adeyemi at Dortmund. His pace would be a more direct replacement for Diaby.

Just saw this.. would be crazy to get two players in who started in a Champions League final the season prior. I believe he's the fastest player in the Bundesliga and plays a little bit of everywhere across the front three. Would certainly be a good addition if the price is right.

£35m is the fee being mentioned.

hmm.. I assume he would be competition for Morgan out on the left. I'll have to touch base with my in-laws to see how they feel about him. Most of them are Dortmund supporters since Duisburg has completely fallen apart.

I like the fact we are getting young player in who are already have experience of playing at a high level.  Coupled with older heads like Barkley, I think were in for another very good season.

The Athletic reporting it is Orford now;

https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5626394/2024/07/25/jhon-duran-west-ham-aston-villa-transfer/

"West Ham United have made a £30million ($38.6m) bid plus teenage midfielder Lewis Orford in a move to sign Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran."

"The midfielder’s deal at West Ham expires in June 2025 and the club had not made a new contract offer."
