Just watched USA defeat Bolivia. Christian Pulicic is such a good player. Still only 25. Fast, smart, scores some very good goals. A player I’d love to see us buy.
Another whose careers stalled at Chelsea, not helped by injuries though.
Agree a really excellent player when fit.

Amazed to read he's only 25. I'd have guessed 30+.

Was just about to say the same thing. Photos of him do nothing to dispel that impression. Tough paper round.

Really good player, but not sure he physically holds up well to the pace of the Prem.

Shaping up nicely for me

Maatsen, Junior and the barracuda bloke all look exciting signings

I’m glad we didn’t get McKennie I think he’s rubbish, from what I could see on social media the Juve fans were desperate for him to go and that apparently after he had a half decent season
Feel sorry for you guys who spent time bigging him up and creating a positive narrative around him, but I think the blokes crap and would have been a millstone type player

I don’t buy the Emery would have improved him line, Emery would improve every single player in the world doesn’t mean to say we should to sign them, anyway, I’m glad he’s not coming

As for the other makeweights going in either way for FFP purposes. Well we’ll just have to see

Dougie is a massive loss but needs must, Overall transfers are looking positive so far

Lenglet and Zanioli are still listed as our players on Pravda. Possibly the loan period goes to the end of this month?

Yeah I think that's it.

In other transfer 'news', I read something Chris Waddle had said recently (can't remember where) about Grealish, and his only realistic moves in this country would be to Villa or Chelsea, given his playing style and relative lack of pace as a winger.  He was saying about the only other clubs that might be able to afford him (the 'top 6' and Newcastle) not being suited in terms the way they play under their currently management.  It did make me consider whether we'd be in for him if he was available this summer, and whether I'd be willing to cheer such a thing.

Regardless of any other factors, we know we need to be 'clever' this window, and Grealish would be a luxury.

We simply can't afford to do that deal at the minute.

Not for me thanks. I don’t think he’s an Emery-type player, but I could be wrong on that of course.

We're one of the most disciplined teams in the league, with really well defined defensive and attacking structures of play. It's just we have a lot of them. I'm not sure how you would conclude that a free spirit easily slots into our system or that Emery is any less demanding than Pep. Odd take.

How is Villa realistic for Grealish? He's on £300K+ a week. I could see Man U being in for him.

If Emery wanted it, and the finances worked, I'd have no problem with Grealish coming back. I think it's far more likely he'll go abroad though, if he goes anywhere.

Yeah, I'd be as happy with Grealish signing as with Trossard, say, but they're both equally unlikely for the same reasons.

It would rank as one of the most stupid transfers ever.
We don’t do stupid.

How is Villa realistic for Grealish? He's on £300K+ a week. I could see Man U being in for him.

The only scenario where it would really be possible is if they decided he was giving them so little then they'd rather farm him out on loan for a season and let someone else pick up £150k per week of it. In that situation, you'd think that a top six Villa side would probably be as interesting for him / them as any other option he might have.

I don't think it's particularly likely that they would want to do that though. He was still starting Champions League semi-finals for them two months ago.

I think he'll have a good season at Man City then go abroad somewhere.
