The Graun article about Duran is weird. It says Gallagher doesn't want to come here if it's part of a swap deal. What difference does it make to him if it's a swap/part exchange or not? I'm sure he'll still get a nice signing on fee etc.
i think the inference in it is that he doesn't want to come here full stop.

And that’s fine, it’s his choice and he’ll probably
remain in London somewhere.
He’s not a player you’d pay to watch and doesn’t catch the eye during the game. Maybe he’s one of those undervalued team players but I won’t be losing any sleep if he doesn’t come here.

If McKinnie is coming in as part of the Doug xtransfer then I don't think there's really much need for Gallagher, I'd have them as pretty similar players.

Fabrizio Romano saying Chelsea are already discussing terms with Duran;

Could be a real fireworks in the bathroom moment for the young man if he gets his dream move!

One good thing about the PSR deadline is we get clarity on the deals before start of July. Grealish deal dragging on through July 2021 really messed our pre season up.

Last year we got in all of Pau, Tielemans and Diaby by July 22nd so same again please giving Unai 3-4 weeks of pre season and friendlies to drill our system into the new signings.

This is the last summer where we can ill afford to be going into the last day of the window still haggling over a fee for a DM or other targets.

Yep.

Other than Gallagher being better.

You live in Italy right? are you still underwhelmed even after his post Leeds renaissance?

He's a lot better than he was at Leeds, which increasingly looks like his Veretout-at-Villa moment (just a basket-case club, can't really blame him). He only played all year because Pogba and Fagioli got banned though. He's tactically pretty bright and pretty physical, doesn't give up and bursts through and all that. But honestly, he's not replacing Doug in that position, just doesn't have the silk feet or smoothness. He might have to swallow his pride a bit - if we want him to play deeper, then he'll have to, and I think his skill-set in the Premier League is best-suited to that.

He has some weird dreams then. I hope we pick their pocket. A player with plenty of potential and plenty of potential to be sent off in every game.

He sounds more like a temporary Kamara replacement then...a poor man's one.

I think he could be good in that position actually. Just needs to accept that, if he wants to play in the Champions League, he absolutely has to maximise his strengths.

Dougie wants to leave, Dhuran wants the bright lights of London, Cash is most likely being upgraded. Selling those three, plus probably Carlos for £100M+ makes sense to me.

This is the true value of a top class manager like Unai, he improves players, so they become or at least remain a saleable asset.
It is all part of the long term plan to build a stronger squad.
I honestly though Doug was off to Arsenal a few years ago, so i'm pleased he is not going to a rival, another positive.

Does Doug want to leave? Genuine question, I may have missed where it was stated…

Luiz stated the exact opposite a couple of weeks ago. Are we still under the same PSR bind if Cash & Duran leave?

Except that one is good enough and one isn't. Fairly major difference.

The real worry for me is what McKennie's current hair situation is.

Doug has had a few barnets in his time, is Weston going to bring his own follicle flair to the table? Has he ever looked like he has a tarantula on his head?
