Henderson's was a strange performance, the rest of the team seem to hold him in the highest esteem and give him the ball every single time, even though he had precisely fuck all influence on the game. You'd have thought that anyone in their team with a bit of experience and gravitas would have told him to get off the toes of his own centre backs. Glad he played though as baiting him passed a bit of time when the game as a contest had died.

All he did was moan at the ref for 90+mins

He really did didnt he,  for Englands sake I hope they dont take him

The Witton Lane side was closed so all home fans had to leave via Trinity Rd side, it was heaving in the Holte Car Park.

bizarre foot traffic management from West Midland's finest. Directed those in the Doug Ellis down Yew Tree Road then blocked the bottom of the road and tried to filter everyone into Witton Station - most of which were Ajax. They then had to let the Villa fans climb over the front of the police vans to get into Witton Road to get away. Could of turned ugly if the Ajax lot had been so minded - luckily they weren't and everyone just moaned about how bad it was.

It was announced before the game that home fans should not use Witton Station and that they should only use Aston Station

But those parked down Brookvale Road and all the associated car parks needed to be able to walk back. Especially as the car park I was in was closing at 11!

I usually park in the Marigold Car Park if I drive there. Glad I didn't on this occasion...

Not a propos of anything, but did anyone cop that surreal moment around 50 mins IIRC when the whole crowd simultaneously went quiet? It was like someone had unplugged us all for a few seconds. You could hear the hum of the stadium's electrics

There is an interview with Lawrenson doing the rounds today, he is whinging about being binned by the BBC for being white and 65. He could have helped himself by seeming vaguely enthusiastic about the sport and knowing a thing or two about any club that doesn't start in 'L' and end in ''The Mighty Reds YNWA''. At least his thatched roof hair has gone.

Can we remove the word filter for plop please? I'm not sure why it was even put on as why praise them?

Plop is cringey, that's why it was brought in. Changing it to TMRYNWA was meant to discourage people using it.

'The Mighty Reds YNWA' is an incredibly childish term to use and as such allowing it back has my total unequivocal support.

Well go the whole hog.

Citeh = "The best team in England and they won everything fair and square"
Spuds = "They deserve to win everything they can as such an example of a well run club"
Arse = "The loudest fans and best fairest manager. I hope they win the champions league"
Manure ="The best stadium is the Theatre Of Dreams and it is well named as they are a dream team".

One problem about getting out last night was that there was an accident on Witton Road so that was blocked.

The Athletic say it was McGinn who decided to swap ends.

Fancy going out somewhere tonight, dear?

Nah, not really. To be honest I'd just rather 'The Mighty Reds YNWA' myself down on the sofa and watch telly...

Lawrenson still gets 15-20 minutes every Friday on Today FM to preview the big games, usually with Big Cascarino or yer man from the Independent, Miguel Delaney.

Shouldn't there be a pre-match Wham! thread by now? I don't dare start those things, the fall-out is brutal.
