Disappointing, but it is what it is.

Will someone please post the feckin’ score?

You can't check the feckin' OS or feckin' Twitter?
The OS wasn’t updating, I don’t use twitter on account of Elon Musk, but thanks for the advice.

And also, a good workout, we will rarely play against a press as aggressive and as well drilled as that

Here’s the thing, you don’t think Unai deliberately played like we did first half to test our skills at overcoming a strong press?  And then when he’d seen enough he did the exact opposite the second half? Or is he not the genius we think he is?

For what it’s worth that’s the second pre season game I’ve seen where I’ve thought Jayden Philgene hasn’t worked nearly hard enough whe we haven’t got the ball.

Pre season games are for fitness. However we still seems to have that bad habit of gifting the opposition goals.
The positive was at right back and nothing has changed my mind that we need a few quality players added to this squad.

By the end you wantt to be seeing some sort of cohesion, it shouldn't be all about fitness by now.

We did ok in pre season under Gerrard and look at how that turned out. I remember a pre season under Big Ron where we looked like we were on fire and finished with an 8-0 win at Walsall. He lost his job that season.
It’s about match fitness/ sharpness and gives the coach the chance to look at different systems and players.
We’ve lost a few players, have had a few late returns due to internationals and the new players will need a lot more time to gel.
What I’ve gained from it is that we need a bit more quality and I’m sure that’ll happen and we need to tighten up at the back.

I’m pretending that’s the case too

Philogene hasn’t looked anywhere near as good this pre-season as he did last.

There is no doubt we shouldn’t read too much into pre season. Especially under Emery and how he looks at the game and data. But it would have been nice to see a little more cohesiveness. Every team has had their top players away. We only had a few that went all the way in respective international tournaments. And I know we are integrating new players. More than most clubs. It will be fine in the end because of who the manager is, we do have good players and we will sign a couple more good ones by the end of the month.

I was wondering why Maatsen was getting so many hugs from the Dortmund players at the end, then realised he’d been on loan there last season. Clearly a popular chap! Good to know.

Along with everyone else, I’m praying for a miracle before next Saturday.

Agreed but I think it's cohesion.

Cohesiveness works just fine there.
