Cursing that yet again I couldn't watch it because my local was showing something else, i. e. the bloody rugby.

Was worth going incommunicado for a few hours, though...

We’ve beaten Sheffield United 5-0 three times, across three different centuries:

12.11.1894 Aston Villa 5 Sheffield United 0
23.04.1932 Aston Villa 5 Sheffield United 0
03.02.2024 Sheffield United 0 Aston Villa 5

Lovely.

How on earth did we not beat them 5 weeks ago?

Chance to go top too...we bottled it that night really

Tonight was just utterly focused from the first whistle, it could have been 10 if we wanted. Put the blades to the sword etc. Notice served to the likes of Tottenham that we aren't going to fall away. Season defining stretch coming up but tonight was some response to mid week.

Having to hear his voice or see his face is always an abysmal day at the office for me.

To redress the balance, have a watch of the extended highlights on VillaTV, Sir Brian is on co-comms and is so wonderfully biased it makes for blissful listening.

Haha. Cheers mate. Will do!

Redemption week against the two Uniteds.

One down.  The big one on Sunday.

I'm not allowed to explain my reaction to Kelly Dalgeish today or in general without accusations of being a sexual predator and pervert. All will say is she is damn close to perfection for me.

Oh and Villa did our job today. Professional, at last energy to our play again.

They had absolutely nothing up front and neither me or the Sheffield Utd supporter I was sitting with could believe Wilder didn’t make the change earlier. They were scared to come at us after the initial avalanche but Archer offers a bit of pace and can get you up the pitch. The difference between Wilder and Emery is embarrassing. I’ve always wondered why English coaches don’t go abroad to try and improve.

Paul Lambert went to Barcelona once.

I've been twice. And I think I could have done a better job than he did at the helm.

Oh it's a very satisfying day out that.

Took my lad to his first away, and now he can't wait to get back to school on Monday.

Made an appearance on the Sky TV coverage just before kick-off and on the stadium screen too.

Know a few of their fans who left after 20 minutes, they'd seen it happen too many times this season and couldn't take any more.

Good all over the pitch and back in a groove.

That was great, each goal terrific too and that pass from Dougie *Chef’s kiss*

With the exception of Pau coming back in feels like that’s our best team - the McGinn/Tielemans/Bailey/Watkins front four gives us a great balance.

Under Emery after a bad result we have always seen a reaction so I was confident we'd win today, although I didn't think we'd win so convincingly

What a fab ‘away’ day for Rex! Yep he’ll enjoy school on Monday morning, send me a screen shot of the moment of fame! I went for a thai massage at half time having listened to most of the first half driving up from London, mildly disappointed to find we’d only added one extra!

The Asda cake printing machine has duly provided a 3rd birthday cake with my littlest one in claret & blue in a ‘part of the pride’ hoody 😅, better get wrapping for pass the parcel :O

Dougie’s pass for the second goal was pure sex.

I said that to the guy witching with me. If that was Debruyner orTrent they would of interrupted strictly to show it.

I saw you on TV but then couldn’t decide if it was you because I thought your kids all supported Sheffield Utd!

How on earth did we not beat them 5 weeks ago?

They came to Villa Park, put ten men behind the ball and were hard to break down.  This evening they came out to give it a go, left massive spaces in central areas and we punished them.

I still think it would have ended 3-0 in the home game if Bailey's goal.hadnt been ruled out.
