Meh.

He was a part of us winning our first trophy and then he left us for a classic 'new money' set-up. They've no class, and little history, but have cheated their way to the top table, not that their glory hunter fans care.

I like that Arsenal have had their nose rubbed in it, not just the biggest club in London jibe but also that they were offered the chance to match the price and refused it, so their own fans will hate them a little bit more too.

Rogers has done what he thinks is best for his career or bank balance. He gets to train with a lot of expensive talent jostling for position, and you can bet that it's not as nice and supportive a place to be.

But who can blame him for the money he's going to get . He's already won a trophy at a big club after all.

Thanks Morgan, we’ve been great for you and you were great for us. It’s a shame he’s gone, but like I said the club statement was pretty effusive so suggests he was decent in terms of his approach.

Yep, you can read plenty in to the club statement. During the run-in last season, lots of players talked of it being the last chance to win something together. I think we learnt a lot from last summer and the JJ situation so had made to very clear to every squad member what was likely to happen this summer, with some sold if and when we can maximise value. It all sucks and the two we have lost were critical cogs in the machine so it is difficult to see anything other than a step back to go forward in the short term.

As with Youri Tielemans, I wish him all the best for a long and happy life, but I hope his team is relegated ASAP.

The BBC has just talked about his move to Chelsea. They mentioned he had won something or other with Man City, mentioned Middlesbrough had sold him for £1 million, but did not bother to mention who Chelsea had signed him from!

It's a shame he's gone but you just can't turn that sort of money down.

A year (at least) of doing a lot less work, for a lot more money.

Who wouldn't want that kind of job ?

The club's parting message seems warm enough to suggest he didn't leave under a cloud.

I reckon he'd have been quite happy to stay, but we needed the money.

Agreed, probably suited us more than him angling for a move.

Yeah, it was said a while back he wasn't pushing to move this summer.

Good luck to him, I hope he shines in their relegation battle

A huge mo,ent for the club and the player. This could take us to another level if we use the money well.
For Rogers it has secured his and his family’s future financially but Chelsea is a basket case, I think he would have been better with Arsenal as it looks a far more stable environment even though Arteta is a xxxx.
Surprised he didn’t mention Emery in his statement.

Not sure he would be better off with those murder ball merchants, at least Chelsea try and play.

I get that and Alonso might be the messiah.
But as an organisation, Chelsea are all over the place.
It’s not like they needed a Rogers type player when you look at the squad deficiencies.

No I get that, I'm just digging at the Islington's answer to Sam Allardyce's Bolton.
