🚨 The £117m fee for Morgan Rogers is all guaranteed — no add-ons.
@JacobsBen

Jacobs also added he Villa won't receive a penny of it, it all goes to Man City.

Every fucking time every fucking time we stick our heads above the parapets they chop it off. Started with Yorke and Milner and Young and Delphi and Grealish and now Rogers. It’s an absolute skewed playing field.

Always the selling club! Nothing changes despite CL football.
That’s how I feel too. We’ve done everything that can be done, big club, brilliant manager, top 4 and CL to look forward to, hold a European trophy. Thats what most players want. And we still lose a player of his calibre to a team that can’t offer any of that. What’s the point?? He’s dead to me now, like Grealish before him and I wish him nothing but failure in the rest of his career

In the nicest possible way, because I get it, but what do you want or expect?! Man Utd, Bayern Munich, Juventus...they're all selling clubs. We're selling for huge money, like they do.
I don’t really care about Bayern or Juventus. I can’t remember Man Utd selling arguably their best player to a rival. My point was though no matter what we do, our best players think they can do better away from VP.

This is our position, we buy, we improve and then we sell for profit.

Staggeringly good business by us.

All done by Emery… and now he’ll buy 3 or 4 from better places than Boro.

And also, for those who like turnover… Spurs just got a player off West Ham for £85m we just sold on for £117m… nice swing!

Surprised that so many people are surprised. It’s a business in which the rules are unfairly stacked against us and we’ve understandably accepted another British record transfer fee for a great player - but not our best player this time. Rogers wasn’t even in contention for our POTY year last year.

Truly gutted about Youri - he felt part of the gang - but something about Rogers body language and his lack of connection with the fanbase always made me think he was here for a short time. It feels very transactional and lacking integrity to depart for Chelsea. Clear out yer locker, don’t forgot your ski goggles and we’ll see you in the Champions League Morgan, maybe…

£117M is a great opportunity for Villa to push on.

There was me thinking having champions league football would protect us from losing our best players to clubs that haven't.

I can remember plenty of times we were asking him to be benched, or subbed last season.

Will be a big miss, but I have expected him to leave since January

Chelsea is a shit choice, and smacks of pure greed to me sadly. If it were Arsenal then I would see the draw, it is what it is though.

Imagine the £117m is up front with some add ons too?

Need to invest very wisely now
No mention of add ons and most most transfer this large usually are on drip. I think we have a quite a bit owing to other clubs next year for player recruitment so we might have to put some in the piggy bank.

That’s just cash flow, which we don’t have an issue with. How and when deals are paid make no difference to the profit/loss figures that we are judged on.
I never mentioned profit or loss anywhere.

Yep, payment schedule makes no difference to how much or how we can reinvest the money.

Real Madrid and maybe Barcelona are the only clubs that aren't 'selling clubs'.

Yeah, I guess the obvious follow up to that is that some clubs are more 'selling' than others.
