There’s so much trust in the manager that losing two of our best and most important players is taken as mostly neutral/slightly optimistic.

Perhaps Rogers saw the quote from Gerrard saying "Chelsea should be coming to Villa Park and wiping the floor with us" that turned his head.

Good deal for us, he arrived and mostly played well and we get a big profit which we can invest into the team.

What a fucking carpet headed wanker he was.

Carpet headed cu er, conundrum of a man.

Ah bollocks. Thought we might get a smidge more than that for him, but at the end of the day it’s still over £100m even after we’ve paid Middlesbrough whatever we owe them. (I think?)

Still, onwards and upwards. Pain in the arse to lose him & Tielemans in the same summer, but I’ve faith in Emery to perform some kind of miracle again.

I was never a massive fan of Rogers. For every good day he had twice as many bad in my opinion. I’m not sure what Chelsea think they’re buying. They’ll be disappointed. Of that I’m certain.

There’s so much trust in the manager that losing two of our best and most important players leaving is taken as mostly neutral/slightly optimistic.

I am a bit like that.

Emery will manage it.

If we are able to use the money well, then we come out of this summer stronger.
It’s a big IF though.

It’s great to hear all the positive comments on here about this news. But I thought the Tielemans transfer would be the catalyst that kept Morgan at Villa. It’s gonna be really tough to replace these two with a champions league campaign looming.

It shouldn’t be if you avoid the Premier League tax by identifying players like Manzambi in other leagues.

Thick end of 150m you should get 3 for 2 helping squad

This is the thing.  Under Dean losing Grealish felt like the end of the earth and so it proved.  Dean lost his job then carpet head proved to be a disaster plus we bought typical players in Ings and Bailey.  Emi gets a pass. Under this manager I’ve no doubt we will continue our upwards trajectory.

He's been an excellent player for us. He's a big part of winning a trophy after 30 years and being in the CL again. There's a reason he played 55 out of 55 last season before missing the final game. Doesn't mean his leaving is the end of the world but trying to pass him off as anything other than excellent for us is like saying you didn't fancy him/her anyway after being rejected in a pub.

Manzambis price is ridiculously high in my opinion.  But we said that about Roy.  (rogers).
