Get it done, get the money in…..

Love watching Rogers and always forgive his occasional looseness in possession for what he gave us in attacking areas…but that is a good deal.

Really, really looking forward to seeing a re-shaped team this season.

I’ve reached the stage where truly the only ones that will piss me off leaving are McGinn & Mings because I have that emotional attachment with the promotion side & Olliemas well as desperately meant to see a player score 100 PL goals purely for us.

Added bonus that the sell on should help fill one of the promotion spots targeted by our 3 neighbours :-)

Knowing what we know now, one would imagine that Rogers picking up a long term injury in tonight's game would be nothing short of catastrophic for us.

It’s up their with some of the oddest transfers… Gray to Wolves? Can’t think of a bigger head scratcher? Maybe Bent to us from Sunderland?

Tony Hateley to Chelsea followed by John Sleeuwenhoek to the The Sty didn't sit well with me back in the 1960's.

Since then it's all been water off a duck's back.

When I was younger I really used to get so upset when top players left. Now I know it's all about how wisely you spend the income.
Bruce Rioch to Derby, Andy Gray to Wolves, David Platt to Bari, Dwight Yorke to some team up north...in all cases we re-invested and improved the squad.
The Unai rebuilt is well underway.

Perhaps Rogers saw the quote from Gerrard saying "Chelsea should be coming to Villa Park and wiping the floor with us" that turned his head.

Good deal for us, he arrived and mostly played well and we get a big profit which we can invest into the team.

  >:(

I just hope Emery is a better manager than Sherwood, then.

Well we knew his was probably going. To buy new players , he probably had to. At least it’s now and not deadline day.

Strange move to Chelsea, when he has” the world at his feet “

We made him a star. He was great for us,in the main.

Good luck. We move on.

Couldn’t understand why Unai worked him to death last season but maybe this was the plan all along? When he’s on form he’s great but he has had periods when nothing worked for him. That amount of money is ridiculous really. How many of these expensive deals work out well for the buyer?

Unless they buy him anyway like we did with Downing?

I mean it’s a good deal for us, but there’s literally no point to football anymore.

It’s great to hear all the positive comments on here about this news. But I thought the Tielemans transfer would be the catalyst that kept Morgan at Villa. It’s gonna be really tough to replace these two with a champions league campaign looming.

We won’t get like for like, but as has been suggested, it looks like we will be changing how we play, too.
