As I say sorry to see him go - great player - and Chelsea is a surprise.  Think he’ll regret it - but young enough to allow a mistake. 

The one thing I would say I don’t think the grealish money was spent badly - little emi and Bailey have played a big role in 2 of the most successful seasons we’ve had in the last 40 years. 

Ings was a mistake - but the other two have played there part - even if now is probably the time for Bailey to move on

Time to find out if MGW has a release clause in the contract he signed last summer.  Interesting it was only 3 years, so he clearly had one eye on his exit when he signed it.  His last one had a £60m release clause, so there might be one, but a bit higher.

Hopefully, it decreases season on season à la Tielemans.

This very afternoon Chelsea have agreed a club record £117m deal to sign England midfielder Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa.
The 23-year-old will sign a six-year contract at Stamford Bridge, with an option for a further year.
Rogers will have a medical on Monday after returning from international duty with England at the 2026 World Cup.
The deal would set a new transfer record for an English player, eclipsing the £116m fee Manchester City agreed with Nottingham Forest for another Three Lions midfielder in Elliot Anderson earlier this summer.

Unfortunately without CL football every season clubs like Villa  will need a Morgan Rogers type signing and inflated sale every couple of years to help bridge the gap to the so called big six. It sucks,  but unless the financial rules change it's our only way to create that extra income without breaking PSR rules. Would be better if we sold abroad so not to strengthen those around us. Both Utd and Chelsea are stronger by taking our players.

There are probably only 3 or 4 clubs on the planet that aren't selling clubs. Them apart every club will always have to sell, it's hardly breaking news. I love all this, love seeing new players under a fucking god like manager....bring it on.
