There is such desperation on the part of football media to ensure Morgan Rogers joins Arsenal. It's going to be their summer window obsession.

I hope that he signs for Spurs now ;)

This made me smile. It's from the Birmingham Dispatch mail.

The mood at Dispatch HQ is somewhat flat today following England's devastating loss to Argentina last night. But let's not wallow too deep in despair: we did score one goal and it was Morgan Rogers from Halesowen who provided the superb assist for Anthony Gordon's opener. Rogers is one to watch: Arsenal has its sights set on the 23-year-old player who is reportedly valued at a British record of £130m by Aston Villa. Kerching.

I'd have thought that him playing in their city makes him one to watch, but whatevs.

That's a disgrace. I hope NSWE are watching.

I do feel there has been a definite shift in the last 24 hours and he's likely to go.

A definite shift in internet stories?

Yes, I liked the one about the slender man and the spiders laying eggs in your ears at night.

it's just post Wednesday impacts; less to talk about elsewhere, expectation (& reality) transfer market heats up. none of this means he's off for sure (although I reckon they will increase their interest this summer and try to get him)

I just can't see them offering enough for us to be interested and I don't think he'll push for a move if we stick to our valuation.

If you look at all the stories they all seem to have set out the valuation Arsenal are offering as in the £80-90m range and I just can't see us accepting anything that leaves us with less than £100m after the Boro share.

I'd tell Arsenal the price is 135m. And the price will be going up 1m every day. Pay the price or fuck off to Temu for a cheaper inferior version.

The other fees that have been chucked around this summer mean I can’t see anyway we accept a fee of around £90m. Why would we accept less than what Citeh paid for Anderson?

Yes, and where was the clamour for Forest to let him go on the cheap?

There was no clamour, because City bought him and even though they are detestable, they actually don't fuck about on transfers, they just pay the money. Same as with Jack.
Arse are renowned for it and have the press doing their bidding.

Newcastle were convinced they'd keep Isak, and in the end, it destroyed their summer window and season.

Unfortunately, you have to be realistic once the player decides he wants to go.  I don't for a minute think Rogers would go on strike, but once his mind is made up, it becomes a matter of time.  It seems like we may well be getting to that point.

My guess is he'll go for about £100m, give or take.  I don't think that would be a great deal for us with the Boro sell-on clause, but otherwise, Arsenal will disrupt our whole summer.
