I fucking hate him. I hate his big stupid fucking meat face, his 'here we go' shtick, his weird subset of the English language ('player only wants' etc), his AI images of players in other sides' kits - everything about that cunt makes me want to douse him in petrol and set him alight.

I bet you'd even say 'Here we go!' just before you lit the match.

He's essentially a public tapping up force for agents and clubs on the take from everyone

If we could get MGW & Mbaye alongside the Joao’s, Manzambi, the Perv and backup RB & CD then I could handle selling Rogers.

This may be the only thing id get on board with. Fuck me though we'd have some team if so, might take a season to blood in but when it did...

Yeah me too. One or two of them might not work out, but the prospect that, under Emery, some might even raise levels is enticing.

Raising the floor of the wider first team squad could make for an eventful season - possibly not a particularly consistent one - but when have we ever done that. :D

The bedding in point would concern me - a couple of those are youngsters, with a lot of potential, but the Premier League is tough to embed into. We also can’t really afford a “season off” like many of the clubs we’re competing with.

It's why I think Emery will go for Mbaye and Bowen. One for now, one for future.

It's a no from me. Too much change would be the wrong call this summer. If we can keep most of the spine of the team (other than Youri) then we can concentrate on the fullback and winger weaknesses in the squad as the main priority.

Am I wrong or has he got a few things wrong this summer?
The Athletic and others have all sounded out that Arsenal want ( and I think will get ) Rogers.

The latest on the Athletic;

“As well as central midfield, Arsenal want to reinforce their attack with a significant addition. Morgan Rogers of Aston Villa appears to be their top target, but Aston Villa are looking for a fee in excess of the £116million Manchester City paid to sign Elliot Anderson.”

So nothing new. They still need to cough up.
Romano and Jacobs posted something an hour ago so, something new!

The same Jacobs who claimed that City have a buy back back clause one club removed?

Yep agreed. Would love to see it. The prospect of Manzambi and Mbaye playing/learning in Emery's system for the next couple of seasons is incredible.

I don’t like the thought of selling a top player, but he’s a top player with flaws to his game.
For 2 seasons he has been exactly the same in how his performances have played out.
A sluggish start to the season, a purple patch where he looks like an absolute world beater, followed by a drop off in form that makes him look worse than a pub player.
He really is a player of extremes.

I am also now far more pragmatic about our ‘stars’ moving on. There is no real loyalty with players. Villa is an employer and the players are just doing their job. I enjoy the highs and the special moments that they give, but they aren’t ‘one of us’.

If the right money comes in, and it allows Unai to continue to build the squad in his image, then I’m ok with Rogers going. I wish it wasn’t to Arsenal but if they are prepared to pay £130m plus, then fuck it, take the money, cash in now while his stock is as high as it’s ever going to be.

Unai is the most important thing to us. Not Rogers.

Can now get 6/1 on him being a Villa player after the transfer window.
