It’s not an adjective I use anywhere else ( since circa 1978) but on H&V. I think it might be an unwritten law.

Seeing as gooseberries were mentioned above:  there is a gooseberry bush down at Mrs S's home place that must be over a hundred years old.  I reckon that in those hundred years I'm the only one that has tasted any of them, lovely.
