Perhaps the financial restrictions are only in place because we didn't post enough about our world-beating sponsorship income.

Well you should do. And work on how to monetize it. Expect to see you on the next H&V edition of Dragons Den

Come on now. The gods' power is used purely to enforce jinx justice, as related to individual matches/cup runs. They can't intervene to force a young millionaire to change his employer on the basis that there was a general assumption among some H&V posters that he was off.

Against my better judgement I stayed up to watch the England match and Morgan looked every bit Aston Villa standard. He certainly doesn't look ready to make the step down to Tottenham or Chelsea levels and neither do I think it  provided urgency to Arsenal's tapping up.

I turned off after their second goal but up to that Rogers was poor. He's never comfortable on the right, if you could even say that's where he was asked to play.

Rogers got a 5 on Sky while Saka and Rashford both got 7's. I wanted all 3 to play but none of them were at a level even close to club form. I just couldn't see where Rogers was supposed to be playing.

I thought everything Rogers did was good. Did he ever give it away and often tried to do something. Trouble was, he was barely involved. 5 is harsh. Should have been a 6 but rashford and saka were more involved but a bit more hit and miss

The pundits on Irish TV thought Bellingham was MOTM and that Rogers didn't take his chance to make an impression. I thought he was trying to make stuff happen in the first half, but was very quiet in the second.

I saw last 10 mins of first half and all of second half. Morgan didn't do much but some nice flicks here and there. In comparison, I thought Rashford had a mare. Thought Ezri looked a bit ropey. Ollie looked lively in his brief interlude.

For me Rogers tried to play for the team, he made runs to create space, he moved the ball quickly, he didn't run into trouble. He didn't play well by his standards but he was doing the right things and ended up a little anonymous because no one else did the same back.

Saka in particular took 2-3 touches more than he should and was crowded out all the time, Rashford was a little better but still ran into trouble time and again. Bellingham was doing it in the first half but at half time something must've been said because he was much more willing to move the ball on in the 2nd half. For me this is why the Bruce/Gerrard/etc "moments of magic" idea of how to win games is so poor, it creates players who won't see the bigger picture.

For me it was no shock that the most fluid we looked all game was when Eze, Rogers and Watkins were on and all 3 were playing as a unit rather than as individuals, Rashford and Madueke started to buy into it as well but given the game was over it'll be ignored and we'll go again with 3-4 players all trying to be superstars and win it on their own because that's the squad we've created.
