I agree AV82.  Which is why I concluded that I think we probably do want to sell him.  I suspect everything else is posturing to try to get the best deal we can.

Sorry if I came across a bit earnest there Chris. I’m just a glass half full kind of person and just feel it’s wasted energy getting riled about the rules, either EPL or UEFA, designed to frustrate us. I’ve also long since given up on players and their loyalty. They’ll do what’s best for them and I’m entirely at peace with that. But it’s a two way street and we need to be just as ruthless in the other direction.

It's completely fair.  I get angry about PSR/SCR almost every day.  Your attitude is far healthier.

A question on the Uefa settlement for anyone who understands such things:

Given the one in/one out situation, is the balance for each assessment (whether positive or negative) carried over to the next assessment? For example, if we reduced spending but not by enough to clear the settlement, do we lose wherever credit we earned from that reduction at the next assessment? Could we then theoretically be stuck in a never-ending reduction in what we are allowed to spend until the settlement is over?

Dave's reading of this is exactly the same as mine and is something I've been posting about for a while.

We are still under an agreement but the specific incoming have to match or be lower than outgoings doesn't seem to apply.

Purely on transfer fees in 2025 we made a profit of about £90m (or higher if the Barrenechea obligation kicked in early enough to be in that year as well).

There will be signing fees and agent fees to add there and of course any changes in wages need to be considered as well but I doubt all of that comes anywhere near hitting a break even. I suspect we probably booked a £60m+ profit in the end.

Do Man City get to count him as club-trained if they sign him or was he at Albion too long? That might increase his value if he goes there if they do.

Don't think they do - I think he was there for long enough, but had too many loan spells.

If we sell Morgan it will not be because we have to under that agreement.

Albion also have a buy back clause.

Halesowen Colts are entitled to first refusal.

Someone once told me get annoyed about the things you can control not those you can’t. It sounds like hokum shite but I’ve got a much healthier perspective on life, the Villa and everything since I started thinking about that a bit more.
