The BBC has turned into a licence fee paying version of Football Insider.

I see BBC are now talking about Rogers being on Arsenal’s shortlist. Although basically implying Rogers and Kroupi are valued at the same sort of level - which I would hope in reality is just nonsense.
Thankfully the BBC know the square root of f#ck all, check out their weather forecasts. Bigger fish than Arsenal will be interested I'd imagine. And it won't be £80M unless there is a clause.

I saw PSG linked with him this morning now that would be more credible?

Maybe but I'm not sure where he'd play. They are a much more obvious 433 than is normal in England right now and in that shape rogers best role of floating between the lines of LW/10/CM doesn't really exist. I doubt they'd risk converting him to an 8 (but I think he'd be very good at it) which means he has to go on either side of the 3 where they already have Kvaratskhelia, Doue and Barcola who are all more natural in those spots. It'd be a lot of money for someone who doesn't fill an obvious position in their setup. This is true for a few other clubs as well.

Yes, in the Reith years their transfer gossip was the envy of the civilised world.

I haven't tried any of the liquorice liqueurs mentioned, but Captain Morgan's spiced rum is pretty rank.

Surprised.  I think Morgan's Spiced is alright at the price point.  I mean, I'd rather spend an extra £6 on a bottle of Havana club 7, but Morgan's Spiced doesn't particularly offend me given it's cheap as chips.

I'm not keen on flavoured rums, just as I don't like flavoured coffee. I find Morgan's Spiced a bit cloying and artificial tasting. It's better than The Kraken though. I like a splash of coke in mine, so would go for Havana Club Añejo Especial or Appleton Estate Signature for roughly the same money. If spending more, Havana Club 7 and Appleton Estate 12 are a big step up, but I feel Ron Zacapa and Diplomático are overpriced.

I quite like Morgans Spiced Gold on the rocks, in a Villa glass.

Shudders. :)

If you can get it on special (it's normally around £45 in Sainsbury's), treat yourself to some El Dorado 12 year old. Delicious.

My gf really likes the Zacapa, but I think the best I've ever tasted was a 24 year old Matusalem.

No coke, though, or ice.

The same with other cask-matured spirits: when I walk into a bar and ask for a really nice old single cask malt whisky, and the bartender asks me: "Do you want it on the rocks?"  (Shudder) "No thanks, no ice, just with a splash of water in a separate glass to allow it to open up a bit..." Surely, that's barkeeping 101?

I really can't remember being asked that when asking for a good Cognac or Armagnac.

I can’t remember most of them, except Markus Tandy? Thank god.

Villa should resist selling Morgan, especially to boring Arsenal. It would be a massive step backwards, he's so important to our structure.

If he wants to leave, and for the generational money I wouldn’t blame him, then off he can go. We only want committed players.

Only the fans have a life long journey with our club.

In my lifetime… to name a few, Andy Gray, Hodge, Platt, Delph and Grealish all off they fxxked, and we’re still here, celebrating trophies.

The vast, vast majority of people drinking whisky in pubs/bars in the Uk are doing it with at least ice and then probably half with a mixer.

Hodge shouldn't be compared to the others on terms of contribution. Substitute Yorke in.

If we get stupid money for him and he wants go he will. If he has a great world cup then likely to be off unless powers of persuasion and local appeal keep him here. Either way, barring serious injury wouldn't expect him to start 2027/28 in a Villa shirt. Even if we won the Champions League

He does appear to be doing all the new agent stuff. Rumours from so called trusted journalists etc… No talk of the future at Villa, radio silence. At least he’s not proclaiming his love of AVFC.
