Rogers hasn't been given an assist for Ollie's first goal.

Is thst because his effort hit the keeper and then rebpinded in off Ollie?

Or are they just being arses?

Officially (or at least with the BBC but I suppose they do go on official stats), any touch by the opposition between the last pass by an attacking player and the goal nulls any assist.

Also, for anyone apart from Fantasy Football types it really doesn't matter at all.

His club management know what created the chance, his international management know what created the chance, his team mates know what created the chance, he knows what created the chance.

Someone crying over his missing two points or whatever it is can go and find solace in his wanking sock.

Had a quieter game yesterday but still managed an assist and occupied their central midfielders, especially when we made the changes as he found the space that was created for him.

I prefer him on the left than as a 10.

I’ve still not worked out his best position. He doesn’t look like a winger and he should have more options in the middle, but he never seems to grasp the nettle when played centrally.

When he plays as a 10 he's often a little too far forward so it's harder for him to do what he's best at and carry with purpose. How our wide players are used means he has to track back more and is inevitably then getting the ball in better places.

I think his best position is probably as a centre mid but with 2 DMs behind him, largely the position Zidane used to play for the exact same reason
