Less than 3 months ago he was getting sarcastic cheers for completing a pass, and cheers when subbed. It's a funny old game, as Ghandi once said.

Yeah probably says more about those doing that I suspect.

Hes a special talent.  Would love to see him still here in 2 or 3 times.  But for now Im just enjoying seeing a very good player starting going to the next level

If he stays we’ll have the best player in the world in two years. If he goes he’ll fix our PSR for donks. Once again, Emery knows what he’s doing.

If we are competing in all major competitions, and start winning things then he might want to stay long term.

I was thinking about his first goal. It isn’t exactly the same, but is similar to Doue’s goal against us for PSG, when he went past Rogers. You just see it and think, “world class”.

He’s bloody incredible. What a player, Emery knows how to get the best out of him too. Wonderful talent, that Middlesbrough lot need to give their head a wobble. Our pants pulled down! Ha, yeah right!

I have a theory that Emery has clocked that they are a load of shit. Rogers scores that West Ham goal more often than 1 in 50. Way more often. It's probably closer to, what, 1 in 10 generally, but even less for him. If you work way harder to get the ball to your centre forward through the channels and give him a 1 in 3 chance, can you do that 3 times as often as working the ball to a favourable position from 20-25 yards? Do you have better strikers of the ball in those positions? Does the likelihood of chance creation offset the reduction in the quality of the opportunity?

Basically, is it more beneficial to this side to play the percentages in the exact way that we currently are? Results suggest the answer is yes and xG can go fuck itself, because there is no way those two chances today are 0.05 or less.

"He became the first Villa player to score two goals or more in back-to-back Premier League appearances since Dion Dublin in November 1998."

Great for him but bloody hell, what a poor stat for us.

Come on Villa, let’s have a season to match Morgan’s performances!!

Love him.

I see the BBC couldn’t help themselves:

“The problem Villa will have, and have admitted to, is they will still need to sell at least one talent next summer.
Rogers is first on that list, ahead of Boubacar Kamara, and a good World Cup will only increase the bids and bidders”
