Great signing - along with Kamara and Youri the key players for next 2-3 seasons at least and with huge valuations.

In the short-term, he and Ollie should be the biggest beneficiaries of Youri's return to the team.

Personally don’t see much point in extending for one year unless we are rectifying a dangerously low release clause.

We've increased his wages so that he isn't tempted by the Saudi pay check?  We've made him feel valued by  the club?

Blimey, just signed a new contract and we are already selling him.

In light of our recent travails in the transfer market, I don’t think it’s mental to imagine a scenario where he isn’t here for the duration of this new contract.

Of course. But straight away talking about him going, after such good news, this and McGinn.

Genuine question because I've not noticed - are people also talking about McGinn leaving, aside from hopeful Celtic fans?

I hope Smithy's version of events a handfull of posts above transpires, but cynical old me accepts that it is likely that it won't.
