The thing is, I can’t remember ever seeing any other player whose form has so drastically tanked.  It’s not that he’s underperforming, it’s that every single thing he does is wrong.  He is a total liability.  He’s not even ‘in the right position’ or ‘putting a shift in’.  It’s worse than playing with 10 men.

For a lot of last season he looked kind of invincible: strong, quick, decisive. Now he’s slow, gets knocked off the ball and looks bereft of any clue what to do.

It must be a crisis of confidence.  He’s only 23 so I hope he just needs a rest.

He’s the next generation Deli Ali.

let's hope not.  Deli's back story is awful, making it a minor miracle he achieved anything.

Indeed, and I find it bizarre how some are reacting to his recent form. There’s almost relish about getting the knives out.

His recent form is atrocious. His form for the latter part of last season has been as bad if we’re being really honest. There maybe some truth in his head being turned with all the links to other clubs but even so, he’s a professional footballer, paid handsomely, “do your job’ as my favourite pundit would say.

You think you can hide down towards the bottom of the page, young Rogers?

I wonder if he is carrying an injury. I recall him picking up a knock in one of the final pre season games and he was a doubt for the opening game of the season.

Don't give him an excuse, it's his attitude! 😉

The lad needs to find his confidence and earn his place back in the team. Needs some time on the bench. Reminds me of Bailey last season . It's like we are down a player each game at the moment. Hopefully things click and he gets back to the player we had in 2024 and not the player he has become this year so far.

The biggest drop off in form I can remember seeing in a Villa player, literally from the sublime to the ridiculous.

His decision making and his execution are both catastrophically poor.

Well he did produce two chances for Malen. But he struggled second half. I’m sure massive ironic cheers at a pass will help though.

It’s down to the manager, his form has been off for ages and yet he is the first name on the team sheet. His confidence is getting shot and now the fans are reacting.

Well it’s not - people can choose not to do it. If a player isn’t trying it’s one thing, he evidently was.

Part of me says we have to keep playing him, we have to get him through this, common sense says drop him, in his case we have to get him back in the groove, get him playing, otherwise I have no doubt he will go in Jan.

I've completely lost faith in him so I was pleasantly surprised with a couple of nice touches tonight. General passing and decision making bloody woeful though. Agree that the ironic cheer won't help but I understand fans' frustration.
