I wonder if the PSR, Martinez, Ramsey summer-shitbag has taken it's toll on some of them. Not making excuses, but there's something fishy gone on

Undoubtedly as they alluded to it enough times. Which I think is part of the problem. The collective sympathy they’ve had for themselves losing their mates, not getting their moves, not buying better players (how does that make our new signings feel) was/is pathetic. I’m over it.

These fuckers (players) need to pull their fingers out because I’m sick of hearing their bullshit.

we are in danger of building Ramsey into a major loss , he  is injury prone and his stats aren't all that
Injured again and out for at least a month
Different injuries almost every time

I think it is a culmination of the rumour (If true) that some Senior players (Martinez / Rogers / Tielemans / Watkins et al) were told that if serious offers came in they would be considered.
The Martinez debacle (dont think we will ever know the full truth), thie buddy Ramsay getting sold (allegedly not his wish) a not able to shop till we have sold all our players being played out in the media all summer hardly made for great preparation.

WEll boys time to stop feeling sorry for yourselves and get your collective shit together.

He will come good again. The fans can play a big part in this. He knows he has been poor. It might be an attitude problem,  or simply a crisis of confidence. We need him back playing like last season. No other player in the League offers what he does when playing well. I hope the turn around is soon for his sake and Villa's.

I think 'attitude problem' implies that he's deliberately being difficult or something, when in actual fact he doesn't strike me as being difficult or doing anything negative. Perhaps he's just struggling with the weight of expectation; from Middlesborugh to Aston Villa, Champions League, England and being YPotY is quite a meteoric rise.

People are calling him out for offering nothing, to be dropped, for having poor attitude etc. I have no doubt he's trying his best; perhaps though he's just not as relaxed as he was. Lord knows how most of us would have performed at 23 with that weight of expectation and scrutiny.

He's also a player playing in a struggling side. It's not just his performance level that has dropped.

True, but given his importance to the team (arguably, its lynch pin), it is not unreasonable to suggest that his plummeting form has contributed exponentially to the team's underperformance.

Agreed.... He's the main reason we are faltering, along with Emery's insistence to play him no matter what. His last good game in a Villa shirt was PSG away - Been pretty much carrying him since.

As I mentioned in the post match - After a 16 hour round trip, the VERY LEAST we should expect from every single one of those players is to fucking run and show effort for the club/shirt/fans, form or no form.

That throughball he could not be arsed to chase yesterday, and the way he petulantly walked off the pitch when being subbed, then failed to come on the pitch and thank the fans at full time has done it for me. File under 'Bailey', in the 'Give him time, he'll come good again' pile.

The thing is, I can’t remember ever seeing any other player whose form has so drastically tanked.  It’s not that he’s underperforming, it’s that every single thing he does is wrong.  He is a total liability.  He’s not even ‘in the right position’ or ‘putting a shift in’.  It’s worse than playing with 10 men.

For a lot of last season he looked kind of invincible: strong, quick, decisive. Now he’s slow, gets knocked off the ball and looks bereft of any clue what to do.

It must be a crisis of confidence.  He’s only 23 so I hope he just needs a rest.

He’s the next generation Deli Ali.

let's hope not.  Deli's back story is awful, making it a minor miracle he achieved anything.
