It's shite news to hear, especially for someone so young. Never met him (and didn't realise he knew so many here so well) but can't recall his posts ever causing any bother. Instead he often dished out helpful advice on claims, and I quite enjoyed his insurance related anecdotes/rants.

Nope you are not on your own, I've always pretty much hated work so was in awe of someone who clearly loved what he did.

I was always reminded, after reading his office based posts, of that bit at the start of one of the Monty Python films, where the insurance company staff untether their building and use it to sail around the sea being pirates.

I really hope thats not seen as being disrespectful for any of his friends here, please no.

Like most I didn't know him but enjoyed his posts. That's terrible news paticularly at such a young age and with a grieving wife and children. This feels like we are a large family coming together to remember a much loved member. HEITS

Terrible news. Although I’ve never met anyone here I’ve been logging on for the thick end of 20 years. It’s like losing a friend when a long term poster dies.

As a fellow egg chasing fan Stu was immensely proud of Spencer’s ability and Charlie’s boundless energy kept him on his toes. His mad antics at the cup games at Swiss Cottage are the stuff of legend. RIP Stu thanks for all the memories.
