This is a terrible shock to all of us who knew Stu and absolutely devastating for Vicky, Charlie and Spencer. Stu was a lovely person, caring, a proud father, an entertaining companion, a regular at the Barton's who always used to come over for a chat. He wrote excellent articles for Heroes & Villains, many with the title "I'll tell you what else I don't like" (it was a long list!). He was one of the best of many talented contributors to the fanzine - perceptive, imaginative, fluent and extremely witty - and also produced brilliant satirical pieces for our family on the occasion of my 70th and my brother's 75th birthdays. He will be greatly missed.
