Happy enough with that, although we’ve made pretty heavy weather of some games in this competition so it’d be nice if we could make it a bit easier on ourselves.

None of it is easy, though. Be that the relentless slog to finish towards the top of the league, or to battle our way to European glory. It's all hard won, and it only gets harder, and that makes doing it even better.
Yup. Last night looking down through the horrible netting momentarily I felt sorry for our players having just come through 120+ minutes and pens next but then my mind went to night before with Man city and Real players and countless other times we have seen big teams in Europe having to do the same. So I thought this is what it’s about, getting stronger and mentally tougher to deal with absolute jeopardy. This is what makes good clubs great. Bring it on.

Great post that I totally agree with.  The experience of coming through that tie will make give this squad a new dimension.

Athens is difficult to do via affordable carriers as most don’t fly on Thursday. So I have booked Jet2 from Brum Thursday morning and Whizzair back to Luton on Friday. However by the time I booked flights had gone up 100% from day before😳

As I understand it we should get about 1600 tickets. If I've done Warsaw Ajax and Lille is that likely to be enough to get me a ticket do we think ?

You’ll be fine probably in the second tier.

Happy with that. Defensively they're nowhere near as good as Lille so I think we can take a two goal lead to Athens.

Is this one of those occasions where they'll be playing in their home stadium for a final so that will motivate them but I look at their squad and it's not really that good, Fenerbache would've been a much trickier test.

Home city, not home stadium for the final as it is AEK's isn't it?

Thanks. That's how I saw it. Time to start looking at travel options then !

Ah thanks. Well potentially winning this in their rivals backyard would be motivation enough. 500 seat difference between the two venues aswell. Bit surprised Greece doesn't have any 40k + stadiums for its club sides.

Noticed on UEFA website that one semifinal 2nd leg is scheduled for 8 May 18.45 CET. I think that’s the other one as our club site has us playing on 9th at 21:00 CET. 22:00 local time.

Has anyone seen their fixture list?  They’ve got to play five games in something like 14 days including us I think.

The greeks are in the title tournament stage of their season at the moment. They have it listed that they are playing matches the day before our two legs, so I assume they will be moved but not sure how much leeway they will get.

They dont get much leeway. They wont do what the French did and give them weeks off so they can focus on europe
