Happy enough with that, although we’ve made pretty heavy weather of some games in this competition so it’d be nice if we could make it a bit easier on ourselves.

None of it is easy, though. Be that the relentless slog to finish towards the top of the league, or to battle our way to European glory. It's all hard won, and it only gets harder, and that makes doing it even better.

It would be nice if we could build up a comfortable lead in the first leg this time. Would rather not go through another penalty shootout in the semi.

Brighton (A) moved to the Sunday, I assume. When as coincidence would have it, our women are also away at Brighton. But that's actually in Crawley, so not really a clash. Unless you were going to both.

Yep, think there is a lesson to be learnt from the QF.  If we can get a lead in the first leg, don't switch off and really try and get a significant advantage to take away from home in the second leg.

I cam imagine the officiating in the second leg in Athens will be atrocious and will make that clown tonight look competent, so need to try and get a big advantage at home.

Daniel Podence on loan from Wolves plays for Olympiacos. Him and Jovatic the only 2 I've heard of in their team.

Indeed - if it was easy it wouldn't be worth doing

Couple of others, Iborra had a couple of years in Leicester's midfield (£15m) when they were doing well. Then had a couple of years with Unai at Villareal.

Omar Richards was the guy that Bayern picked up from Reading, he won the double with them then they flogged him to Forest that summer they bought everyone. Now on loan in Greece (the Forest owner also owns Olympiacos)

They've also got (along with Podence) about four other Portuguese next-big-things-that-weren't. Players that left Portugal for stupid money too young and it turned that they weren't actually Cristiano Ronaldo.

Their defence is really poor. Nowhere near as solid as lilles.

They are good at home - but if you think lilles fans are hostile olympiakos are even worse. We need a healthy lead 1st leg as this is huge for greece a greek team getting to final in athens.

Two players are banned for them 1st. Masouras who is a pretty decent player is banned and so is a young cb richardos-ntoi

They’ve had a couple of spankings in Europe this season so if we play to anything like our level we should have too much for them over two legs.

Spoke to a couple of mates from when I was working on Kos over 20 years ago. Asked them about Olympiakos, and their replies ranged from "wankers ' to 'they're fucking shit'.

I'll take it all with a pinch of salt as these lads are AEK and Panathinaikos.

This one just came through, too. AEK fan:

Never mind Wolves, what about Olympiacos?

There was a point last night where I was thinking I hope people can get some money back on their cancelled flights to Greece. And now they're having to book more!

Yup. Last night looking down through the horrible netting momentarily I felt sorry for our players having just come through 120+ minutes and pens next but then my mind went to night before with Man city and Real players and countless other times we have seen big teams in Europe having to do the same. So I thought this is what it’s about, getting stronger and mentally tougher to deal with absolute jeopardy. This is what makes good clubs great. Bring it on.
